Sweet! My least favorite company making an entry of one of my least favorite series and genres. It's a great day to like endlessly clicking on stuff til the story magically progresses!

This has pretty much been discussed in the other Telltale thread about Jurassic Park...

Agreed on the Telltale front...not so much on the original KQ series part of your comment though. The classic Sierra adventure games were actually extremely clever in their puzzle-plotting. (IMHO, of course.) Telltale, on the other hand, does sort of subscribe to the "click and the story magically progresses" school of game design that makes it more like reading a stubborn graphical novel than any kind of rewarding or immersive experience.

That said, King's Quest WAS probably my least favorite of Sierra's major series...so I guess I don't care if they screw it up too badly; I don't really want to play it anyway.

Now let's just hope this inspires some more interesting developer to snap up the rights to Space Quest...

I'm excited for the King's Quest game to be sure, being a big fan of the series. Hopefully it'll be a little more like the classic Sierra games than Telltale's usual (which i don't mind, but still), but if not, there's still The Silver Lining (the semi-unofficial KQIX) carrying on the old tradition.

On a side note, for anyone interested the first episode of back to the future is free right now on telltale's official website!

I like Telltale but they are going way too crazy with all their properties. At this point, all I'm looking forward to are Fables and Puzzle Agent 2. Everything else worries me.

@thebrute - Space Quest (or a Quest for Glory reboot) would've been much-preferred, imo. And while I'll agree that the design of a few of the KQ games (5 and 6 for me) was pretty clever, I just didn't enjoy what I was doing to enjoy said design. And KQ 7 was atrocious. Something about mouse-scanning environments for clickable stuff just doesn't do much for me.
