According to Destructoid, the hit eShop title by Suda 51 & Level-5 has hit the iOS App Store in New Zealand. (@Onikato posted a link to the article in the "Recent eShop Downloads" thread in the 3DS Forum).

Does this mean it'll be hitting the App Store elsewhere? If so, is it something you'd like to get? Also, does this mean the other Guild01 titles (Crimson Shroud & Aero Porter) will hit the App Store?

I for one found Liberation Maiden to be an enjoyable experience, and the more people that play it, the better.

I can confirm that Liberation Maiden is available on the app store (Australia shares the same app store as New Zealand).

It's just $5.50 and has more features than the 3DS version of the game - online leaderboards and additional challenges, as well as Game Center achievements.

A/NZ and Canada are often used as "test runs" for game releases on the app store so that, if any unforseen bugs pop up, the developers can get feedback and don't piss off the really important markets.

It's also worth noting that this game is on the app store courtesy of Level-5, and therefore a port of the other games seems entirely possible.

I was wondering who actually owned the Guild games. I support this - the more people that stumble upon Crimson Shroud, the better :D

Also, what additional challenges does this version feature? The original version was a tiny bit disappointing, only having five missions

The game description just says "challenge missions."

I'm going to buy this and download it tonight for a review. Stay tuned.

It's kind of odd that Australia and New Zealand would get something like this before Japan.

I help keep these threads updated: New 3DS VC games in Japan, Missing 3DS VC and Wii U VC between regions, and Full of list first party Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Gear games missing from the 3DS VC.

Again, Australia and New Zealand is a useful test market for a game release on iOS. There's a big enough population that, if the game has some nasty bug that the developers missed, enough people will play it and comment (via ratings/ emails to the publisher) for the devs to patch it in time for a global release.

But it's not such a big market that if something does go wrong the negative reviews will destroy the global sales of the game.

Japan's a big market. I wouldn't release an iOS game there first, either.

It wouldn't surprise me if all 3 come to the app store.
However Aero Porter has too many controls to work well.

I actually thought that Aero Porter would work best, lol.

Especially on the iPad, being able to see the whole thing without the break in the middle of two screens would be a massive help.

I'm just glad Crimson Shroud will gain more attention if it were to be ported by Level 5. The more people playing this gem, the better. Apparently, Magikarp is happy too. Speaking of which, does the fourth Guild01 game (the rhythm based Merchant game) stand a chance in getting ported? I heard one of the reasons it wasn't given an eshop release outside Japan was that the Japanese humor will not translate well for non jp gamers to understand.

So the challenge mode lets people set challenges to their friends on Game Center. As none of my friends on Game Center are Australian, this is a problem.

On the plus side on the Retina iPad screen this thing looks better than it ever did on that tiny 3DS fuzzy screen.

I'm really curious as to how this would control on an iPhone. Aviator said it's actually pretty nice so I'll be expecting that review.

It's fine. I'm not going to change my original score of this game because the iPad version has issues of its own, but in terms of controls it's fine.

Also @DePapier I've never played the 3DS version so I wouldn't be able to compare controls.

@Waltz What's the issues with the iPad version?

The presentation is awful. Aside from the in-game graphics (which look great) the menus and text is like a 3DS game blown up to retina screen size. Which looks awful.

It's done. It goes live on Thursday which is your Wednesday if you're American.

It's exactly the same score as the 3DS version, though it is ever so slightly the better game on the iPad.

OK, cool. I'm in France, though, so I'll have to "wait" a little longer, so to speak. And I suppose this is going to be on your website or here on Nintendolife?
