@ekreig: Ships with 16 characters with more to buy later...personally i'll take an ultra version once they release all the characters. (Says this but is a Ryu main...So doesn't actually need other characters but still wants them...needs an intervention)

You unlock the other characters as they come by playing the game, the money is just a "pay to get it faster" deal.
Well the furthest I got was the charter select screen till it crashed. Been trying off and on all evening to connect but I was unable to. Capcom is aware of it and are looking into it. I am done for the night so hopefully tomorrow will be better. Not to disappointed since this is all about being part of a beta. I am sure though people who don't know what a beta is about and we're expecting a "free" trial of SF V are raging but they are idiots.

Managed to play a couple of matched before the inevitable crashes and being booted out of the lobby.
I think it is safe to say, even in these very early stages, that we could be looking at the best Street Fighter yet, even though I will always prefer the Alpha series.
The fluidity of the animations is astonishing and their hands and fingers mesh together to feel more 'solid', as it they are actually using their hands//fingers to link combos. It is hard to explain however, that is the most noticeable thing I can see.
Only slight negative is the backgrounds looking a hit ho-hum compared to the detailed characters, but then again, they have got (plenty of) time on their side!
The wait is going to surprisingly tricky. I find it even harder to go back to Ultra Street Fighter IV now. Feels somewhat clunky in comparison.
I'm shocked, completely shocked, that PSN and Capcom are having problems. I wonder if it will run at 90 FPS like Killer Instinct? That was just a small jab, guys. I have admitted that I would probably get this game if I had a PS4.
Tried a few more times tonight but still no luck getting connected to the server. Not a big deal but now I am in a mood to play Street Fighter so I guess I will play USFIV.

I don't know about this one version thing going on with SFV. That's so not Capcom that I'm kinda calling bs on it haha.
I don't know, with DLC nowadays they just need one version and just keep updating the game with DLC. To me it felt odd that they kept releasing SFIV various versions on seperate discs rather then DLC only. The only reason they had 20 versions of SF II back in the day was cause there was no Internet available to the public and the only way to release updates was release another version of the game. But with Capcom who knows we will just have to wait and see.
