It's time for yet another weekend, so here comes Steam and their crazy deals!

For this weekend they have:
-The just released game Zero Gear will be FREE to play for all Steam users, just go to your Games tab and it should be waiting there for you to install. also, if you decide you want to keep this game, you can do so with a good price: while the free weekend is on, the game has a 25% discount, leaving it at a mere $14.99.
Or, you could grab the 4-pack, since the fun of the game is in the multiplayer... with the 4 pack you get the game for yourself, and 3 extra copies for friends, and it's on sale for $29.99, so if you have 4 people and all of you are getting the game, it's just $7.50 each, an even better deal!

-Also, one of the newest PC games is on sale... one of the best looking games ever made (thanks to DirectX 11 and ATi Radeon HD GPUs), it's DiRT 2, usually $39.99, is just $19.99 until Monday, a 50% discount!

I'd suggest you at least try both.... trying Zero Gear is free for the weekend and is the full game, while DiRT 2 has a demo (along with a Benchmark tool). You'll get to see if you like them, and if they work on your PC.

HINT: ATi Radeon users be sure to have the latest Catalyst and drivers available for your card to ensure the tessellation engin on your card is enabled and working... I just tried the demo, and changing the graphic settings from the default ones to the maxed out ones didn't make a difference in performance on my PC, while the graphical quality increased considerably.

After the Christmas holiday sales Steam has bled me dry as far as Steam games go for awhile..

There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore

Anyone know if that Zero Gear game has been anounced for a console release or is it PC only so far?

It's an Indie game... expect to see it on Xbox LIVE in any form, either as an Xbox LIVE Arcade game or as an Indie game (XBLA more likely given the price, won't probably make it until a couple of months since it was just released for PC...)

Or you could just buy it on the PC...

I had fun once and it was awful.
