Couldn't find a PS1 thread

Well I just recieved it in the mail today, I've yet to try it. Anyone have anything they'd like to mention about this supposedly quite good game?

I loved the story, but i hated the battle system, and then i got stuck so i never did finish it. i remember you can recruit different people to go along with you depending on who you talk to or what you say/do, though, so be prepared for multiple playthroughs if you want to see everything this game has to offer.

the AI really annoyed me, because (as i recall) i couldn't trust it to do what i wanted it to do half the time without getting all my other characters killed, so it was almost a frantic race to control each character and get them moving where i wanted them to go or casting what i wanted them to cast or whatev'.

Reminds me of Star Ocean 3. Thanks, now I know not to get Star Ocean 2.

@Digiki: it's an action RPG (in battle, at least -- i don't recall every last detail about the game), so you have one character you're technically in control of and you set an AI for the others (use magic, heal, attack, whatever the settings were). during battle, everyone's running around the screen, so they're hard to keep track of sometimes (especially during boss fights). i don't recall there being a fully-manual setting, because i totally would've used it.

@Mickeymac: at least they're consistent, i guess :3

Ah, I see. Admittedly I've only watched one short gameplay video, and the battle looked to be turn-based-ish just with a more unique viewpoint.
