@SwerdMurd: Funny you should mention the Gummi Bears review; it happens to be one of my favorite reviews for any game of all time. I love reviews for bad games, they're really funny! So the game at least generated a hilarious review. :D

The review for that game was actually pretty exaggerated.

I played it myself and the game may not be a thing of beauty, but it was not nearly as bad as that review said. It was absolutely not unplayable, it was not extremely laggy and it was even genuinely fun at times. There were no game breaking bugs nor unfair mechanics "at every corner".

All there was about it is that it was another mediocre platformer and the reviewer really wanted to hate it at all costs.

I find it funny how the guy said that he was not able to make any choices i the game, but from what i have seen of it, isn't the game all about making your own choices and seeing where the story goes because of them? maybe he thought that he was supposed to listen to the narrator every time or something.

Clever in the aspect that he was mocking someone who stated their complaints in a relatively reasonable manner? Sure, some of them were wierd, and his sexist remark shouldn't be encouraged, but this is ludicrously passive aggressive. It's like that one bratty kid you know that loves to make a scene in front of everybody when presented with the slightest critique, and thinks their the most clever person in the world. It doesn't matter how eloquently he stated his statements, he still publicly ridiculed the guy. This man should be professional, especially to someone who took the time to play his game. It's simple manners.

1) I don't know anyone like that. Your example is far too specific to be relatable.
2) It's a joke.
3) The guy's complaints were unintelligable and contridictory. It's no worse than a teacher reading a student's essay to the class to explain why it doesn't work (what? Everyone's had at least one instance of that happening, right?).

Doesn't talk about games.

1. The example may have been more relatable to me then, as I've dealt with plenty of people like that in my life.
2. It doesn't matter how humorous it was intended to be, it's still incredibly rude to mock someone in such a way, especially when it's intended to be seen by a wide audience. How would you feel if you had said something to one party, intending it to be for only said party, and it was then spread in such a manner that it would reach the largest possible audience?
3. I don't believe your example applies to me either, I've never had any one of my teachers read any specific student's paper to make an example of them, let alone ridicule the student who wrote it with brutal sarcasm.

Also, I feel the need to mention that this "Raphael" was simply giving his opinion (again, sexist remark aside). He didn't get the emotional response he thought he would by playing the game. Therefore the developer makes a fool of him (and maybe even leads some Internet vigilantes his way, assuming his name is indeed Raphael)? Seriously, the person sent it in an e-mail, and he obviously thought about his complaints more than the average denizen of the Internet, who would have likely just send a complaint saying "this game *censored*in sucks and you suck".

Whatever, I'm done. Bottom line, I'm sickened by the Dev's rude response, and I'm not going to support him in the future.

I thought the point of a joke was to illicit laughter, because I didn't chuckle once during that. I gotta agree with @Wonder_Mask. It seemed like the dev was just using his metaphorical 'high ground' to take a few pot-shots at his critic. Sure, the critic in question wasn't the most eloquent and made a sexist statement, but he didn't deserve that, especially since it was a private message. If the dev had an issue with the guy, he should have settled it without the internet as an audience. With this move, the dev is essentially saying "I'd love to hear your feedback... unless it's negative. If it is, I'll humiliate you just like this guy".
