Sqaure Enix is doing some promotion where if you spend £5 you get £50 worth of games on the 20th of Dec, though it doesn't tell you what games they well be hence the surprise, I think this is PC only also not sure if this is available in all regions but for those willing to gamble on some Square Enix games thought I'd just pass the news on.

there's nothing that's certain... of that you can be certain

Heck, I don't even have an account on Steam and I'm half tempted by this.

Yeah, basically the Square Enix Christmas Surprise costs £4.99 (presumably comparable in other regions) and you get four Steam Keys for downloadable games which would normally cost £50 (or comparable) if bought separately at full price. (full details)

Not sure if this is in North America as well, though.

Basically, from today until next Friday (December 20) we’re selling something called the Christmas Surprise. It costs £4.99/€6.49 and contains a selection of Square Enix games that together have a retail value of £50/€75.

So what are the games? What’s inside the box? WHAT ARE THE GAMES??

Well, that’s the point – it’s a surprise! If you buy the Christmas Surprise, then the contents of the box will be delivered to you after midday on December 20 in the form of Steam keys (which you can keep, or gift).

Going to give this a bash. Wouldn't mind Final Fantasy VIII to be in amongst them (unlikely since it's just been released on Steam).

I want one :O

I don't even care what they are - surprises are awesome!

EDIT: I bet they'd shaft us with 3 month subscriptions to FFXI and FFXIV lololol

@Jollykarp I REALLY hope you're wrong. One of the games might actually be something like a copy of the game and a 6 month or year subscription.

If you don't mind me ruining some of the surprise

People figured out that the recommended specs for the package match the specs for Tomb Raider, and so that's likely to be in the package.

I'm pretty happy with that one, since I've heard a lot of good things about it and haven't gotten around to trying it yet :o

Today's the day and the games are Hitman Blood Money, Tomb Raider, Dungeon Siege and Just Cause 2, also has a code for a coupon that I haven't figured out what its meant to be used for, so if someone could clue me in on that it'd be much appreciated, glad I finally got Tomb Raider kept skipping it but after it getting such acclaim I was hoping this game would be one of the surprises also pretty relieved no FF MMO games where in that list too.

Yeah, Just Cause 2 alone would make that pack worth it to me, though I recall hearing good things about the rest as well.

Doesn't talk about games.

Got back from my holiday to find this in my inbox. I'm glad to have gotten a fantastic deal for Tomb Raider, although I don't think I'll play the other games too much. It's a shame though because I hear they're releasing a director's cut for Tomb Raider soon :/

Also late but the coupon's for a 20% discount on the SE store! It's not applicable for the FF games though.
