Chocobo wasn't saying they were similar. He was explaining that some companies are too busy making original fighters to make Smash clones.
Also, I didn't notice anything in the article to suggest this game will be like Smash, just that it too has an all star cast, unique stages, and items. No mention of how damage/health works or if you can fall off stage.
Yeah, bingo. Square Enix could have made a Smash Brothers clone. It decided to do its own thing. For some (me included), that was a good move.
Though Smash Brothers is plenty good fun with beer and friends, Dissidia 012 is the best darned fighting game I've played this generation.
I'm not opposed to this idea at all, I mean, it doesn't get points for originality, but I enjoy games where a bunch of my favorite characters are beating each other up.
I'll also get a slight chuckle seeing Nathan Drake getting smacked by Ratchet's wrench, and then Nathan Drake flying off the stage but miraculously staying alive by climbing up a train.

You didn't like Marvel vs Capcom 3, the new Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 4 (and it's derivatives)?
sony has no mascotts. the only cool mascoot was crash bandicoot.
sony can only do one thing: COPY
Crash Bandicoot was never their mascot.
Exactly. Crash and Spyro were always owned by Universal Interactive. Universal then merged with Vivendi (who owns Blizzard), who were then bought by Activision. This means Activision now owns Crash and Spyro, and it's why Activision's corporate name is now Activision-Blizzard.
Sony published Crash and Spyro because of a licensing agreement they had with Universal. Naughty Dog and Insomniac created the characters independent from Sony. Sony was just the publisher.

I haven't played the first Dissidia in months, so I'm a bit rusty on it considering I played it off and on. With my time spent on it, I did enjoy it. As for Duodecim, I know for a fact it has improved on the original. I'll take your word on it because you seem to know what you're talking about.
I just don't like people saying SSBB isn't competative or it's shallow. It seems people rag on these games because it sets itself apart from , what I call, generic fighters. As in, they all look the same.
Of course, they really don't. But how about that?
I'll always prefer VS. titles over SF. But I'll choose Smash Bros. over any "fighter" any day. And any game
Because it's the only game I'll see Kirby and Ness together, fighting. And it's just helluva fun, especially competatively.
Anyhow, for the person telling me about research, I'm sorry for having limited internet access and the fact I'm browsing on an undesirable device.
Just hope this game is as chaotic as Smash Bros. Either way, a crossover with Sony's mascots sounds delightful anyday.
