One of my favorite video game characters turned 18 today! :)

What do you think about Sonic? His games? Favorite Games? Ones you own?

I like the character. I prefer the Master Siystem's Sonic Sprites rather than the MegaDrive's/Genesis's one. I remember i bought two Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Gamecube(one broke) because i remembered laying Sonic when i was little(i didn't played a sonic since the five years to the eleven years). Suddenly, SA2B became one of my most favourite gameCube's games.

PS: The Sonic games for Game Gear are really, realy difficult. Like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 where you can die very often in the first boss because you dont get any ring., and doge the rocks is very, very difficult.

Over the recent years of SEGA`s attempts to make “Sonic” games, I`ve been turned off more and more. Just look at the Wii`s library with Sonic in there. Sonic and the Secret Rings- very blan, and unsatisfying. Sonic Unleashed was probably the best Sonic game in years though even that has its major faults. SatBK last but not least, was (from what I`ve heard and read upon), THE worst attempt yet on Wii.
Though thats only the Wii... sadly. Sonic should just be left alone for a couple years and let SEGA come up with something great for Sonic(no sword or co-op BS)!

But Sonic was awesome before around 2004 or so. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Sonic the Hedgehogs, and many of the things Mario participates in today, such as racing, tennis, Smash Bros., and I can`t think of anything else.

Now wheres Tails86 with his Sonic belongings?

Sonic doesn't deserve an 18th birthday he should have died two years ago.

Yeah I agree, Crono. I only like 2D Sonics. 3D? Not so much. (Sonic Adventure was the only 3D sonic I liked.)

I like Sonic. He's had some good games now and again. Nothing recent (except Sonic Rush, which is one of my favorites), but maybe one day somebody can resurrect his career. Maybe with a new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog 4 on WiiWare? I hope so.

How could any of you be so cruel about Sonic? Sonic should not die - he's been through a rough patch, but I'm sure Sega will have learned from Sonic Unleashed, and the next game they unveil will be the Sonic game we've all been waiting for.*

I stood outside of a Kay Bee Toy store on the morning the first Sonic the Hedgehog game was released and it was a great day indeed. I just remember what a very different experience it was with its speed. If there's one main reason I keep my JVC X'Eye around to this day, it's because of Sonic 1, 2, 3, Knuckles, and Sonic CD. Five of the greatest 16-bit era games ever made.

As far as I'm concerned, there were no more Sonic games after Sonic & Knuckles. Does that answer your question. :D

Same as Corbie, mind you, I really enjoyed sonic's sections in Sonic Adventure2 on Dreamcast. I played through that Jungle level countless times as it just had a great mix of speed, level design, music and the length was just right. The other characters levels were meh, but this is the only 3D Sonic so far that was enjoyable enough to warrent repeat play.

Dream Sonic game would be a 16bit Sonic 4 designed by the original Team Sonic (I can dream) released on VC/WiWare, OR Miyamoto designs a 3D Sonic. I'm feel like he would understand what everybody wants from the character. Maybe someday...

I'v noticed sonic games seem to come out a few at a time so the problem is they keep spreding themselfs to thin i'm sure if the whole team wear to buckle down one a single game (single platform (maby port it later we dont want a repet of "sonic the hedghog")) im sure they can make a 3D sonic game that does the blue blur justice!

Sonic should have died with the Genesis. Every Sonic game past that was either bland or pure crap.

Surprised Sega hasn't done something about it by now. Luckily there hasn't been any news about Sonic since the Black Knight, so hopefully they're doing something big - and good. I say give it to Dimps and make them use SU's day engine.

There's actually two teams that work on Sonic games, so if they all came together I don't think it would necessarily work. Sonic Unleashed on Wii and Sonic and the Black Knight were two totally different teams, for example.

Has anybody played Sonic Rivals 2 on PSP? I really enjoyed it although I did object to having to play it as both members of all eight teams to get my money's worth.

I still remember clubbing together with my brother to get the £39.99 for Sonic 3D when it was released on Sega Saturn, then coming home and playing the intro music a thousand times in a row because it was so addictive. I will never, ever turn my back on Sonic no matter what happens - he'd never turn his back on me.

Not even 2D Sonic can compare to 2D Mario.

well both of them aren't doing a very good job they really need to do something big to properly redeem themselfs. takeing the best of the two teams just may be the only solution to it. well maby if S&BK was made after WMP it coud have been something good. well that gives me hope for future Sonic story book series.
