I guess its not that surprising that the DS version isn't being released in the west as the DS doesn't have much life left in it. Its not too disappointing though as while I was interested in it it was never one of my most anticipated rpgs. I'm more annoyed about the ps3 version of Tales of graces getting a western release and not the wii version.

I'm getting a PS3 solely for Tales of Graces F. That's a game I'm really excited for. I just wanted to let everyone know that we're getting Ni No Kuni since some people here care a lot about that game.

IIRC tbd only owns Nintendo consoles so she's probably sighing because of being disappointed that the DS version isn't getting a western release.

Blast. I didn't realise it wasn't coming out for the DS. I'll just notch that up to another reason why I should get a PS3.

As long as this game is published outside Japan in any form, I will be happy. Will be getting this. Sad to see the DS version has no plans yet for localization maybe but I guess translations can be a real pain in the but, especially if you were to translate two different really REALLY thick books for each game.
I heard something about the two versions being significantly different, even down to the story and gameplay. It's a shame too, I really want to play them both, but at least one of them is seeing the light of day so I can't complain. :|

I will say this though, if I had to play one version of the game, it would be the PS3 version. It looks nicer and the gameplay is more action oriented and involved.

So many JRPGs to buy, and such a small chance I'll ever beat any of them. Ah well, such is zezlife
I'll make a huge announcement the day I actually beat my first RPG without stopping near the middle-end xP

I know what you mean. I have about 100 RPGs and not counting the Pokemon games, I've beaten, maybe 10 of them? Hopefully someday I'll be more diligent with them.

The DS version doesn't look that good, anyway. They seem to be different games.

Never heard of it, but I just told my friend (whom is a bit of a JRPG nut) and he crapped himself in excitement.

But it's Studio Ghibli, so the game will be awesome on the story alone.

I don't like you, Mickeymac. :P
