"PS now" is, from what ive gathered, a streaming service for games. So, some sort of "games on demand" without downloading / installing the actual game. SInce the PS4 is very streaming centered (like the feature to hijack your friends console to remotely play his game), i can imagine that you pay a fixed price for a certain library of games that can be streamed form sony servers. But i havent looked into it that much, since i dont have a PS4 nor would our internet infrastructure manage something like that.

Basically they let you rent any game that has been available on their systems since the original playstation by letting you stream them on to your PS4, Vita, and other sony game related devices. That's my unofficial dumbed down summary. Rumor is that it's gonna do some damage to Gamestop and Gamefly's business.

I mentioned this in the Vita thread. I can't wait for this service to begin, and will almost certainly be mainly using the Vita to access it. It's crazy how it's hardware numbers mean it's gonna get very few new actual Vita games, but between the already available PSOne Classic and PSP games, and Playstation Now on top, there's gonna be a crazy amount of amazing games playable on that little handheld.

Here is a link to NL's sister site Pushsquare which explains it.

Basically for a fee you can stream games from the older PS libraries to other devices such as a PS4, Vita, Smartphone, PS3, tablet and even Sony TVs. I am guessing they will follow a set up like Netflix's streaming. If you don't want to pay a month fee you can rent games from it and pay a small fee to be able to play that game for a certain amount of time. At least that's what I gathered from it.

Growing up I was never a Playsation gamer, it was always Nintendo, Sega, and latter Microsoft.

I’m really excited to play all of the old PS1 games that I passed over in the 90’s (specifically the Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jet Moto, and Gran Turismo titles.)..

I am actually looking forward to this, there are alot of PS3 games that I missed due to owning a 360 last gen, plus there are a bunch of PS and PS2 games I would like to play again. I am hoping this will pan out and not be a disaster that the Nintendo VC is, but as of now they are sounding like Nintendo did when they were announcing the VC for the Wii. We will just have to see how it goes. I am sure that there will be licensing issues that wont allow some games to be added to the service.

Playstation is now a multimedia player that may play games, but it's hard to say anymore

They're also streaming to TVs and phones. I wonder why

The potential in this is massive. If it's cheap enough, this could take over. Sony is seriously going all-out this generation.

If they can get it to work, sure, why not?

You lot do know this is not going to happen over night? As Sony points out. There end vision is a service you subscribe too or rent from, much like Sony's Music Unlimited or Video Unlimited services. But you'll be able to play them game's on any TV,PC,Tablet,Smartphone etc no matter the brand, here is the good news for people like me. Sony end vision is going to take years to achieve and Sony will be the first to tell you that.
