I have to say I saw that one coming. It sucks, but at least you'll still be able to snag a copy.

Wait, are PS3 games region-free? O.o

Yep. The single greatest thing about the PS3.

I had my fingers crossed that for the first time the classification board would not act like a bunch of bleep bleep bleep for a change.

In all honesty this is the first game I have really, really wanted that has found itself banned, and it annoys me. There's nothing in MK that isn't 10 times worse in a game like Splatterhouse.

reports WaltzElf to the bleep bleep bleep classification board >:3

That sucks man... Lucky you can import stuff. :3

It's just like with music; all the popular artists get a Parental Advisory sticker if they have anything remotely offensive in their music, but smaller artists who have dozens of curse words get by with nothing. It's just because the stupid people trying to censor everything have their heads so far up their collective asses, whatever it is they're trying to censor has to be high profile enough that it reaches their ears so they can complain about it.

Why is Australia so strict when it comes to adult content in games and movies? I remember when L4D2 came out they made Valve tone down the violence a lot before it could be released over there.

wont be on here anymore

Because in Australia we don't have an Adult category for videogames classification. The highest age category is MA (15+). Anything that would be rated 'R' (18+) is instead banned.

We have an R18+ rating for movies, but apparently games are MUCH MORE IMPACTFUL. But I would very much like to see the censors watch the R18+ move Irreversible and play Mortal Kombat and then try and make that claim.

When I read the thread I was thinking "You only realised now after 20 years?" then I saw the post and thought "Oh, MK 2011" then I realised that the Australians can simply use the European account to cheat Sony Australia's system.

I find it weird that the Australian's are strict on Videogames although they have the best immigration rating due to how picky they are on letting immigrants in...I wish the UK was similar these days.

I've also heard that they're trying to make porn illegal in Australia if the woman's boobs are too small (no, really). Anyway, the good thing about your games is that you're in a PAL region - import from the UK, practically nothing gets banned here.

Unless they ban Page 3 on our Newspapers. ;D

Well, that certainly came out of left field.

So instead of doing the logical thing & make an adult category for video games, they instead decide to piss off the adult gamers by banning everything. Why am I not surprised at the stupidity of people?

Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.
