I know the Wii version of Freeloader bricks your Wii (that happened to my friend and he had to by another one. He wont touch Freeloader again) so I thought it was a hack program. I might be wrong though, but why would it brick your Wii if it wasnt?
Nintendo made an update to automatically brick your Wii if it finds a freeloader program. Ninty doesn't like it when people buy outside the region just because a few customers hate having to wait 6 or more months just to play a new game.
@Tasuki: to add to what Mickeymac said, if we remove this part of the conversation, chances are someone else will pick up on it and go down the same line of thought you did :3
either way, let's let it get back on track. :3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
I think I have a Dreamcast copy somewhere, actually...not that I'll let it stop me from getting Legends, but at least I'll try it out, if I can find it.
Oh ... can open, worms everywhere ..! From what I remember, it was a legitimate product from Datel along the same lines as an Action Replay or Game Genie.
For what it's worth I found my old NTSC Skies of Arcadia and ...well, that certain software.
I can give you my opinion on it. It's really good.
I think it's highly regarded in it's story (not something I really look for in a game, but the fans like it), an it's full of mini-quests and diversions - the Discovery miniquest especially.
The Gamecube version is called Skies of Arcadia Legends BTW. I can't remember if it's supposed to be improved over it's dreamcast version, but if I remember correctly, there was one particular diversion that was left out the Gamecube version.
It's highly recommended - especially if you can find it for a reasonable price.
Thanks for the opinion, I'll definitely check it out.
One of my favorite RPGs I liked it alot. Since you are from England (I am guessing cause the price you listed is in pounds and not dollars) I am not sure where to go. Since it is on Gamecube you might want to check a store like Gamestop, sorry I dont know if there are Gamestops where you are, or some other type of used game store you might luck out. Either that or maybe Amazon but I am not sure how much its going for on Amazon. I lucked out finding mine at Gamestop a few years ago for $20.
Lots of luck to you Starlight hope you find what you are looking for.
You should know after I answered to you in the Yard Sale thread.
We have a Gamestop but not many retro goods there...we do have CEX as an alternative but they only have last gen ges, thanks for the heads up anyways!
@Kefka: Welcome to the forums! I always seem to meet Kefka members who are so nice to me. XD
Thanks for theoffer but I think I'll play it safe as I wouldn't want the new member banned unintentionally.
Just want to thank you all for your opinions and I went ahead and bought it on Amazon UK for £27 (including £2 shipping) thinking it'll be a Black Friday deal (used but new would be £60).
I hope you enjoy it, man! My local Gamestop sold Skies before I could get ahold of it. I'll take a chance and buy it online when I have money, which should hopefully be the end of the week. Looks like you'll be getting it before me. I'll try my best to catch up.
Glad you found it Star. You wont be disappointed. It was one of the few games that made me want a Dreamcast but I never got the money together for one. From what alot of people who have played both versions there isnt too much difference between the two. Anyway enjoy the game.
Oh and I am sorry Star but I dont remember even from the Yard Sale thread. Dont take it personally I just forget where everyones at thats all. Heck at times I forget what states and cities my own family are in lol.

Skies is worth it for the perfect everything throughout. Seriously hard to enjoy an RPG more than Skies...it does everything right imo. The GC version even cleaned up the admittedly stupid-high encounter rate and added some more difficult stuff in later....seriously one of the all-time best the genre has to offer. It kinda throws you back to the SNES days in terms of a genuinely likeable full cast.
I actually think I might give it a restart due to seeing this topic...It's kinda like Chrono Trigger or FF7 in that all I need is to hear the game mentioned and I instantly feel the need to replay it start to finish.

Funny I actually got this game not even a week ago and Im loving it. I think Im about halfway through the game (at the blue moon), with about 25 hours of playtime, and I think it has undeniable charm and a great story. Great villains and heroes, with some serious grpahics, even though its a dreamcast game. Love it, and all should buy it.
