Is it good and if so...anyone know where to get it cheap! (on Gamecube)

I see it at £30 used all the time and I am a BIG AM7/Shinobi Team fan of their games (Streets of Rage/Valkyria Chronicles/Altered Beast and in some sense they are semi responsible for the newer House of the Dead series with AM1).

I'm afraid you're talking about a cult classic here - a game nobody really bought, but everyone loved. Good luck finding it cheap. As for how good it is...I'll let you know when I finally play my copy and get a good ways in. On the bright side, I think Sega would gladly rerelease it on PSN and XBLA.

Lol what? No-one bought it and yet loved it? Sounds like PIRATES!

Good luck...I was tempted but it went up in price...definitely would get it on XBLA though.

You can try finding it on eBay, at a carboot sale or hope it turns up on the Virtual console for the Wii7.

It's very expensive, but there always seems to be plenty of listings on eBay. £50 you can expect to pay.

I sold mine for cheap and I will regret it for the rest of my life.

He means sales were low, and production was also low. It's the perfect example of a cult classic.

Oh no, not £50.

Lol @ Wii7

I shall try the boot sales but all I see are old Mega Drives...

The last quote was a sort of joke. XD

I found one for £10, but you can expect to get a lot of competition for it. It currently has 5 bids.

Thanks for the link, will look into it but I don't really use eBay.

I can give you my opinion on it. It's really good.

I think it's highly regarded in it's story (not something I really look for in a game, but the fans like it), an it's full of mini-quests and diversions - the Discovery miniquest especially.

The Gamecube version is called Skies of Arcadia Legends BTW. I can't remember if it's supposed to be improved over it's dreamcast version, but if I remember correctly, there was one particular diversion that was left out the Gamecube version.

It's highly recommended - especially if you can find it for a reasonable price.

One of my favorite RPGs I liked it alot. Since you are from England (I am guessing cause the price you listed is in pounds and not dollars) I am not sure where to go. Since it is on Gamecube you might want to check a store like Gamestop, sorry I dont know if there are Gamestops where you are, or some other type of used game store you might luck out. Either that or maybe Amazon but I am not sure how much its going for on Amazon. I lucked out finding mine at Gamestop a few years ago for $20.

Lots of luck to you Starlight hope you find what you are looking for.

It's frequently more expensive to buy it on GameCube than it is to buy a Dreamcast and find the original and a memory card. The DC original has higher quality music and a VM minigame, but the GameCube one has extra content in the way of Wanted battles which are, frankly, incredibly difficult.

If you're a fan of Sega RPGs, particularly Valkyria Chronicles, you'll really like Skies. It has the same spirit as Valkyria, has a great cast of characters and loads of stuff to recommend about it. Well worth £30 in my opinion

I don't know if it's any use to you Starlight but I'm pretty sure I have a NTSC version of the game and a copy of Freeloader that lets your PAL Gamecube play the game. I'll need to check in my loft just to be sure but you're more than welcome to it if I can find it.

I thought loaning out games was legal so long as both individuals have a mutual consent?

Don't forget a lower encounter rate (apparently).

I was talking about the Freeloader program.

Is that a problem? All it does is remove the region blocking. Its not like a cheat machine or a pirating tool. There's nothing illegal about it from what I can tell. Unless I'm issing something.

I know the Wii version of Freeloader bricks your Wii (that happened to my friend and he had to by another one. He wont touch Freeloader again) so I thought it was a hack program. I might be wrong though, but why would it brick your Wii if it wasnt?

@Tasuki: the Freeloader was an actual item sold for the Gamecube, i think it was by the same dudes who did the Action Replay.

@theblackdragon: Ah ok nvm than sorry to cause a fuse about it. Maybe it just Nintendo that doesnt like it cause my friend read online that after one of the Wii updates that everyone who used it had their systems brick up so I just assumed it was a hack program. At least thats what my friend lead me to believe hence why I never used it. Sorry for the confusion. I just didnt want to see anyone get in trouble is all.
