Some where between yes and no lies a better question, would you rather see the Metroid series continue as a third party (game) or be extinguished altogether?
I'm not saying it's that bleak, but as a fan of Other M and considering the poor opinion of that game in some circles, the future of Metroid seems uncertain.
Maybe. seriously, though, as much as i don't like the developer, everything they make is practically already metroid. why not let them have a shot at an official one and see what comes out of it
@thelastlemming if Ninty was trying to kill it, then it would probably not be in nintendo land. Bug if we are going to start worrying, F-zero hasn't been around since the gamecube!

...um...literally every other thing said about the game on the internet has been complaining about the sameyness in some way. Even guys who I've never seen complain that much about Nintendo complained about this.
You really didnt get my point. People complained about NSMB2 for different reasons, and I was one of them.

well those reasons take away from the actual point and are ignored

Why don't you like them? Do you just not care for their games, or is there another reason?

Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Remember the last time a developer we thought was a good fit for a Metroid game made one?
It's hard to forget, I know.
If you look it up, apparently Yoshio Sakamoto had an almost George Lucas level of control over the game and is responsible for nearly every single thing hated about Other M. So yeah, not Team Ninja's fault.
Would much rather have Sakamoto and his team (maybe together with Intelligent Sytem) work a 2D Metroid game. Sakamoto may not be a good writer but he and his team sure knows how to make an awesome 2D Metroid.

Even so, the gameplay, exploration and boss fights weren't enough to omitt its other flaws.

...good point. Actually I just remembered Team Ninja's last game was a complete dissappointment, and while Other M's gameplay was the best part of the game, it still wasn't as good as most of the other Metroid titles.
