Hi,i have 244 subscribers on youtube(thank you to those who subbed),HD videos,2 finished walkthrough's and since december 24th,i have not gained one sub but actually lost 2.

I'd really like to know if i'm doing something wrong? (http://www.youtube.com/user/sean007s)
Like really i have put so much effort into these videos and they take about 3 hours to upload and i feel like its a big waste of time.

I know i cannot force anyone into my videos but i just do not understand what i'm doing wrong.
I'm not here to advertise my channel(i do that using signatures as you can see) but can anyone go to my channel and see my videos...like maybe 1 or 2?
Tell me if i'm doing something wrong,i put many tags on the videos so people can find em.
People who are like Official Final Fantasy characters or people that do AMV's get more subs than me and i feel it is not fair at all...

if anything, you should definitely do that. Just watching some random guy play through a game isn't fun. Providing entertaining commentary can make them worth watching.

You could try doing games that have fewer videos. I'm positive that RE5 will have a ton of videos already so people who search may not find your videos. If you do games that are less well known, or less popular, etc, you might get more people subscribing.

Thats like my predicament I have only 42 subscribers. I put my heart and soul into my reviews and videos but i don't get nothing. But I'm not worried about becoming too famous if I even got to 50 subscribers that would be a feat for me it has been a small dream i've had otherwise I just make videos because i want to. If people do not like them then don't watch them is how i feel. If anyone does want to look at my material here's the link http://www.youtube.com/user/Tails86 But otherwise Sean your videos look fine. I will even subscribe to you so there's one of your subs back :). EDIT: try that its because of the period being in there. Anyone who couldn't see it try it now.

Try commentary, its usually the stuff that makes playthroughs stand out.

Yes, you are worrying about your you-tube popularity far too much.

It is. And no I'm not being horrible, I'm trying to help. Take pride in the videos that you make, but don't judge it's success by the amount of subscribers. Everyone and their Mum is uploading to Youtube these days, it will be difficult to stand out in the crowd.

The man speaks the truth on this. If you're having fun doing them, then continue. Just don't worry as much about views/subscibers (although you recieved good advice on how to spice them up).

Listen to wise Uncle 'Chu. YouTube should be something done for fun, not something you hang your entire ego on. Just keep doing what's fun for you to do, and interested people will continue to subscribe to it if they want. No big deal. :3

Thats an issue,if its not popular,no one will search for it.
I am doing some MW2 commentaries soon so i guess it will give me a boost and then after that,i'll do some commentary walkthroughs and i'll be on my way lol

I do this for fun but gaining subs would more or less give me the motivation to keep making videos at the same time as having fun with them :)

Any suggestions for games are welcome, new or old :)

You should notice that there's a huge amount of viewers who won't subscribe to anyone's channel because they just are not signed up to Youtube. There are a lot of viewers who just check out some videos on Youtube every now and then. I used to be like that. I didn't feel any reason to join to Youtube. I didn't fell I should give stars to the videos I'm watching. I didn't feel I should give any comments to the videos. I didn't feel I should subscribe to anyone's channel. I just used the search box to find out if there were any new videos from some people whose videos I thought were good.

Eventually I did join to Youtube but I still very rarely logged in to it. A couple of years later I started to make my own videos. That made me log in more frequently.

The thing with your videos and with subscribing in general is that those who subscribe to someone's channel subscribe for a reason. Your videos don't have much more to them than just showing some games in action. There's nothing else. No commentary. No jokes. No comedy. No tension. No interesting graphics.
Ok, if someone wants to see Resident Evil 5 played through and finds your videos he might want to watch all those RE5 videos. But that doesn't mean that person would want to see a Call of Duty walkthrough. In the case of RE5 the viewer was hooked by the fact that there was RE5 in action. Now, if there would've been some talking the viewer would've possibly liked the video for two reasons instead of just one. That way the viewer might want to hear you commenting on some other games too.

I don't have too many subscribers either (151 subscribers to be exact) even though I have a video that became a surprisingly big hit here in Finland (It's got nearly nearly 290 000 views now and it was nominated for the best internet video in a Finnish web contest). I understand why I haven't got bigger amount of subscribers. It's because I've made so many videos that differ from each other. There are really crappy looking videos, professional looking videos, simple videos, more complicated videos, "best of -listing" videos, "collection showing" videos, documentaries, music video etc etc etc. There's no way people would want to see everything I'm going to do. Some people might want to see my heavy metal lists and some people would want to see comedy from me. And if someone subscribes because they've laughed while watching some video of mine, they'll be disappointed when they see another video where I just list my favourite guitar riffs. And someone is waiting for me to upload another guitar riff listing video and disappoints when I've uploaded another comedy.

The thing with me is that I just want to do what I want to do. If they become popular then they become popular. If they don't then they don't. I just want to be one of those who are giving something for people to watch. I just want that if someone writes a certain word in the search box there would be one of my videos available. That there would be more content for different people to pass time with.

I think that every single video on Youtube has it's audience. Even the most illogical and crappiest ones. Some videos are liked by millions. Some videos are liked by 5 individuals. In both cases the uploader of the video has managed to make someone entertained for a moment and that's great! That's what Youtube is all about.

I just want to say to you that don't stop making those videos even if you don't get any subscribers or if you don't get many views to your videos. It's great that there's your version of a walkthrough for Resident Evil 5 even if there might be more of them from other people and even if some of those would be more interesting than yours. It's great that there are your videos available for everyone who have an internet connection.

Of course, if you know how to make your videos stand out from the crowd, do that kind of videos. I know it's great to know there are much more people who enjoy those videos. I just want to say that don't worry about those subs and views too much. Just do what you love to do. And if the thing you love to do includes making walkthroughs with commentaries then by all means do them. :)
