I'm playing a RPG called Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines atm,and I'm having a great time with it!

I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!

StarBoy91

I like action-oriented and turn-based RPGs.
However, the one first-person RPG I've played was Arcana on the SNES; and it's really enjoyable, but obscure.

To each their own

Infernape1000

I like my RPGs with level and combat systems.

My two favoritest RPGs are the Baldur's Gate titles for the PS2, so I am quite fond of the top-down view. Isometric works for me as well.

Currently playing: Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA), Infinite Space (NDS)

I love that game! I played the pen and paper game for years before moving away from home. Good times!

A Fool and his Wii Points are easily parted.

I've played it once or twice myself.

I prefer isometric/top down as my first choice. Then 1st person as my second choice. There is no other way to play rpgs.

Though I'm more a Nintendo gamer, my favourite RPG is Fable for the old X-Box. It perfectly combines action-adventure and RPG elements and it looks beautiful even today.

I'm mostly a JRPG player but I think the best CRPGs around are Fallout and Fallout 2, followed by Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. Fallout 1/2 were and are extremely unique, and Fallout 3 just doesn't do them justice.

As for my favourite JRPGs... Panzer Dragoon Saga, Chrono Cross, Suikoden II, Persona 3 FES, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, Final Fantasy VII and IX. And Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is out for the DS. So excited!

KOTOR=Best RPG ever.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Any as long as they are fun. If they play like Bioware's Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Obsidian Entertainment's Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2(have all 3 on XBOX and they are nothing short of excellent). Torchlight is my favorite RPG on PC. I am using examples of games because I do not have a preference as long as the game is great.

Not boring grind-fests. Does that count?

Well, I have never been the biggest fan of RPGs, but I`d like to get into Final Fantasy. I have never played a single one(gasp!). So, what is a good one to start with?

(P.S My favorite RPG I have played so far is Pokemon Ruby.)

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?

FFIX is my favorite, so I suggest that one. Most people here seem to be obsessed with FFIV for some reason. I beat that game, but I didn't think it was that great. It was fun, but the story was the worst of any Final Fantasy yet, I think. X is probably the most accessible, but the characters and voice acting in that game are horrible, and the story is nothing too exciting, either. VII is widely believed to be one of greatest RPGs (if not [i]the/i] greatest RPG) of all time, but it might not hold up for you if you're used to today's games. I haven't played much of VI or XII, but those two are really good, I hear.

X is probably the easiest game to introduce someone who's not big on RPGs, but if you already have a love for RPGs, then I recommend IX or VII, as those are my favorites.

@ grenworthshero

If had a PS1 I`d get that one, but of the ones on VC, what would ya`ll recommend?

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?

grenworthshero

Well, the only ones on VC that I know of are FFI and FFIV, so I say go with IV. FFI is a lot of grinding and trial-and-error

Yeah I`m leaning towards IV. Well tomorrow I`ll buy my first FF game.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?
