Topic: Retron 5

Those controllers are the most unholy abominations I have ever seen. :/ Good thing no one will ever use them...

Let's just keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't get delayed again!

I have to admit as much as I dont like clone systems, that is pretty sweet and tempting. Still for some odd reason I love the fact of having a bunch of retro consoles connected to a CRT TV.

Apparently, the Retron 5 will even let you take screenshots of games and put them on the SD card.

I'm definitely getting a retron 5 as soon as I can, so far have very little interest in the wii u, PS4 or xbox one consoles and nothing I've seen so far has made me want to get any of those this year, so I'm going retro.

I think this system sounds fantastic myself. I mean it supports HDMI input, lets you save state, and supports over 8 different consoles.

Welcome to the party, pal! Besides a tad of Vita and Wii U, my interest in the 8th gen is just about zip. The Retron 5 will definitely be the centerpiece for quite a while, I think.

Going to wait for reviews, but I expect to have one of these pretty soon after launch! Been picking up cheap Megadrive games in anticipation for a while now.

So is no-one interested in the Retro-Bit machine?

Personally, I've been waiting for the Retron 5 for a while now (I've bought Super Tennis and Exhaust Heat in preparation), and I was tempted when I read the review - I had no idea when the Retron 5 was going to be released.

I'm concerned about whether either machine will be able to play all of the games you could buy (I hear Castlevania IV is a bit difficult for these consoles to emulate).

Anyway, my wishlist includes:

• Pacific Theatre of Operations II
• E.V.O: Search for Eden
• Terranigma
• Bahamut Lagoon (@Scarhino89 said something in the matters of import article about it being possible to own custom cartridges with the english DeJap translation - I'm down for that!)
• International Superstar Soccer Deluxe, Super Soccer, Striker, Virtual Soccer and Sensible Soccer
• Road Rash 1,2 & 3 (preferably the faster American versions)

Basically, good games that will never get released on the Virtual Consoles.

Any confirmation that it's going to be April? I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere.

I've been trying to find a specific release date, hyperlink's facebook page here has April being mentioned a few times as the release date, but not sure where they are getting that date unless hyperlink themselves have stated that earlier and I just haven't spotted that comment, hope it is April though I really want a retron 5 a lot more than I want any of the new consoles right now.

Actually there is a comment asking if it is still down for April and hyperlink have replied "April is in stone" from 16 hours ago, so looks like it is confirmed for April after all, doesn't say when in April but still at least now we know the month.

Going to be checking it out at Super BitCon on March 29th. Maybe it will win me over. Will let you guys know what I think and put up some pics.

So, does Nintendo Life prefer the white or black design? I've got black pre-ordered.

And to 8BitSamurai, I checked out the website, it's really slick! I've already preordered the White/Purple version from Amazon. The black is a bit slicker, but I have a soft spot for the old SNES design.

Any games ya'll are really excited to play in the Retron 5?

For a clone console, RetroN 5 is promising enough to consider a purchase from me. If I do get it, it'll be a black one.
The included controller doesn't seem comfortable to hold, but I haven't tried it yet. Even though I'll be scouring over amazon and eBay just to get most of the games I want and a SNES controller, I already got some GBA games along with a couple of GBC ones to try out. I'll end up chuckling if I can get WarioWare: Twisted! and e-Reader to work on RetroN 5.

The ones I would be interested is the ones getting RGB out of is a difficult mod which seems to be none of what this supports other than the NES. (Which doesn't really interest me). PC Engine would be what would interest me. Maybe 32X.

I don't mind using a CRT. If I was going to use a HDTV I would use an XRGB.

For some reason, I'm really excited to play (the in-my-budget $5) Mafat Conspiracy on the NES.

Game Boy Advance is lookin' good (And I need everything there in my life, nao).

Also, if anybody ends up liking the wireless controllers, you'll be able to buy more on Retron 5 launch (Probably for around $20). You can sync four at one time.
