Welcome to the Sony ecosystem.

If you're mostly interested in the PS1 and PSP games, you may consider just getting those and a PS+ subscription. A year subscription is 480 SEK and gives you access to plenty of free games if you don't want to buy and plenty of discounts if you do. Well worth the price tag. I signed up for PS+ when I first got my Vita because with the games I wanted, a 1-month subscription was actually less than the total discount for the games that I wanted to buy. I spent $12 to save about $20, and yes, I am a penny-pincher.

This month, Dragon's Crown and Surge Deluxe are free in Europe for Vita, and you get to keep them for as long as you keep your subscription. Dragon's Crown is definitely worth checking out. Same developer as Muramasa for Wii.

Yeah, I got a 3G one when it went slightly cheaper. Just take out the SIM card and you'll never have to bother with it again.

My advice: download a PSP title called Dracula Chronicles X. It's a remake of the superb PC Engine Castlevania game Rondo of Blood. Anyway, the original Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night are both unlockables in that game. It's like getting three Castlevania games for $15! They're not terribly difficult to unlock. There's guides online telling you how to do it, if you have trouble finding out how to do it yourself.

I have FFVII, Parasite Eve, and Chrono Cross on my Vita. Soon I'll be getting Xenogears. I love playing PS1 games on my handheld.

Also, you'll balk at the prices of the memory cards, but my sincere advice is to swallow the pill and get the 32GB card. You'll download a LOT of free and discounted stuff if you get PS+, and you'll want room on your card for multiple games.

You can even go one step further and import a 64gb card from Japan. It costs about $30 more and it's double the memory.

the only major PSP title I've heard that is only available through a PS3 is Valkyria Chronicles 2, most other PSP titles available on PSN are downloadable directly to Vita

Ya the vita is pretty great, supposedly it also fixes some of the controls on some psp shooters(such as the 3rd birthday) so you can use the right thumbstick instead of the buttons to change your view direction. also if you like persona you can get persona 1-4 on it including both versions of 2 one being a psp title and the other a psone classic, also the version of persona 3 is the portable version with all the extra content.

I can confirm that SotN is on the Vita PSN, at least in Europe.

A updated list for the games which need to be transferred from PS3 to Vita would be great though. I do own a PS3, but I don't want to buy the game just in case of the off-chance it isn't transferable, and every list on the Internet is outdated. Right now the only reason I still own my PSP is the off-chance I want to play Burnout Legends again, which can't be downloaded directly to the Vita.
