Great news PSP owners. To conincide with the release of PSP GO. PSN will start a PSP Minis download only games section. There will be 15 games availabe on Oct 1 and 50 more to follow behind it by Jan 1st. This is how you launch a download service. The games will cost $5 and less.

No it's Sony's answer to the I-Pod Touch and it has a 100 MB limit..... Damn Nintendo you got beat by a portable in terms of storage and size limit!

That's a lot of content. And I suspect half of these will not be Little Big Planet clocks. Very nice.

I hope Q Games or some other talented developer steps up to the plate to make a series of Minis to rival Art Style.

Im right there with you Supermarioman. I love Nintendo myself as well as my DSi. But this exactly why Ive ranted and raved about DSiWare being lacking only to a TON of criticism here on NL. You launch a system thats dlc only with a large amount on dlc to attract consumer. With 50 more games coming in just 4 and a half months compared to 4-6 a month. Nintendo there is just NO damn excuse.

Well, DSi isn't download only... Of course, DSiWare is the main attraction for upgrading, so I can see why it should be held at least to a slightly higher standard. I hope the Go pushes Nintendo to support DSiWare better. I'm still happy I got it for Art Style, but if the Go is as good as I hope, I could see selling the DSi once Shiren the Wanderer is out on the Wii and I no longer need the DS to play it.

Sony has had a heck of a day and it really has made my day. PSN has had great dcl lately. Not to mention Thurs we will get Samsh Cars. Im in heaven with my PS3/PSP at the moment. OH and a new firmware release is about to come out wich improves the XMB and trophies big time. Another score on Sonys part.

Ah, I almost forgot about Smash Cars. I sure hope I can get my PS3 online Thursday.

Back to the Go Vs. DSi... What would be really smooth is if Nintendo unleashed a DSi VC the week before the Go's launch. That would be something to steal the Go's thunder. But short of that, I don't see DSiWare ever being good enough to compete. I hate to be so skeptical of Nintendo as a supporter of theirs since birth, but it's just doing nothing for me right now aside from Art Style.

I feel the exact same way man. Ive loved Nintendo for a LONG time. Maybe this will pust Nintendo to ramp up DSiWare. I want two awesome portable DLC shops not one or the other. I dont care where the good games are or what they are on all I care Is I get them and can play them. Im willing to bet in the next month will be hearin Nintendo talkin about a portable VC. Im right there with you on that one too.

I'm not placing bets, just saying it would be smart. But what consumers think is smart is very often not what Nintendo does. All signs have pointed to a VC for a long time: The "leak" from some conference later to be denied, the GBA hardware in the DSi (according to some -- I don't know that sort of stuff), and the selection of DSiWare within the Shop as if there would be some other option. And yet they've stayed silent despite having no real need to wait. So needlessly mysterious...

I dont know but I do know this. One developer today said they have 4 more games coming for the PSP Minis Store. I hope this get the big N goin on that DSiWare.

I believe Sony is kicking it up a notch. I'm glad to see the PSP getting some love.

@Corbie.... Me and you both Corbie. My PSP has just been sitting over there patiently waiting for someday like this to finally get the love it should. Im very happy about it. Hope this is a push for Nintendo as well.

This makes Nintendo look awful, and Sony is looking better and better.

Dont get down on Nintendo though because yes it does make them look really bad (does make me feel right about all my frustrations at DSiWare lacking of content though) but it HAS to push them to ramp up their products. Ive really felt like in the last two years that Nintendo is getting way to comfortable. Maybe this will change that.

If you can afford NOT to I would hold on to your Wii for the new games that are goin to release. Mario Galaxy 2 will be just a phenominal as the first one. PS3 IS a great system and Im really glad to see Sony getting the credit its has so long deserved. I love my PS3/PSP but I dang near teared up when I let my Wii go.

@WhoKnew.... Im not even worried about the Go. Its all fully supportive on ALL PSP systems and the GO will somehow supposively be able to get you UMDs onto it is what Sony is saying.
