~$100 for the console
~$150 for the console + 8GB memory card and a white DS3
Accepts physical Vita cards

Single handedly saves the Vita and puts a big crap on the Wii U price advantge.
This also means the Sony eco system is hitting every price point with somethng for everyone.
PS Vita TV- $100
PS Vta-$200
PS3-$260
PS4-$400

I have never understood the desire for playing handheld games on a TV. I see people here asking for a device that allows them to do it with their 3DS. The TV streaming services and PS4 remote play give this some usefulness I guess.
Might get one after I've bought a Ps4, since it can stream the games.
I'll happily pay that amount to be able to have my Ps4 in two different rooms without having to move it around. PSV TV in the bedroom and the Ps4 in the living room.
Yeah, that function is really cool. Maybe they should have used a different name. Sell it as a device to stream PS4 with the side benefit of playing PSOne, PSP and Vita games instead of the other way around.

They definitely should have. This will most likely sell poorly due to people thinking it's only for the PSV. Pretty bad name for the device IMO.

There's definitely a market for this, but I'd rather pay more for portability. Sony is doing a very good job of covering price points though, and I can see this doing well.
The Wii U price drop still is more enticing for me personally. Can't wait till October 3rd!

I'm not quite convinced that the console "Saves" the Vita nor that it will crush the Wii U after the price drop, but this definitely makes the Vita seem a lot more competitive.

i might buy a ps4 maybe 2014 used(is more rpgs comes out) and maybe a vita to sit next my 3dsxl and wiiu(if someone selling it for under 100 dollars) and i will look at them and say sony and nintendo are the best.
Wait... hold on a frigging second. How would you play Vita games that rely on the touchscreen/rear pad controls with that thing? This does not make sense at all, 'cause that's what the Vita is all about.

oh so now i undertsand what this vita tv is about. first i thought it would make you play vita games on a tv by streaming it from a ps vita. that didnt make any sense lol
what i dont still understand is how do you play vita games that need touch controls?

You can't. They've said that every Vita game based on touch will not be available/playable on the PSV TV.

Interesting. So you're telling me that 9/10 games for the Vita will be unplayable on the PSV TV? If that's the case, then I seriously don't get what they're trying to gain by this.

I know a few people who hate gaming on small screens and usually use anyway they can to overcome it. I know a guy who used a Gameboy player on Gamecube, HDMI on the PSP, and airplay's the majority of his ios games.

That would kill its marketing potential and consumers would assume its just an add-on for the PS4 and than the product would be Wii-U'd. The big hook here is that for someone wanting a cheap all in one box this is it. For $100 your getting Access to a decent sized Library of medium appps and the ability to play nearly every Vita, PSP, and Playstation One app. Having it capable of streaming the PS4 to another TV is just an added benefit when you think of what the PS4 marketshare will be come november.
This is what the Wii U should have been. A small cheap box with an internet connection sold primarily on its Video and huge games library.
Okay, I'm buying that sucker. Persona 4 Golden, Gravity Rush, and WipEout, here I come!
The video is down, but I'm assuming this thing can connect to the internet?
Yep its basically an Apple TV that can play games which I why I think it will be successful. You can use Vita Gamecards or download from the PlayStation Store.

Already confirmed that in a update it will be able to use dualshock 4 which comes with a touchpad.
