Doubling the battery life makes it tempting, I must say. But I'll live. I'd never take this beauty outside my house anyways...

Sony's really throwing down the cards in Japan, aren't they?

And they're releasing a new model around the same time as Pokemon? Oh dear...

A cheaper model, too, and remember, there's no 2DS in Japan, either. Granted, the Vita still won't have Pokemon...

I don't think Japan needs a 2DS. The 3DS is selling well enough from what I can tell.

Also the new model Vita Wi fi is around $190 (current exchange that is). Is that really much cheaper than the other model?

Huh, only about $10 cheaper? I thought The Vita was an extra $20 more expensive than over here, but I see it's not. Guess I forgot about that price drop. Also...I just checked Play-Asia. Why is everything so expensive there?! Seriously, a Japanese Vita now costs $300...What?!

Well the 3G old model is $200 (after the drop) and the new model Wi-fi only is about $190. I dunno if a 3G version was released in the new model

Do you mean on Play-Asia or in General? (my fault for bringing it up, sorry)

I'm assuming it's the MSRP because I pulled the price from IGN

You're right, it is the MSRP. Not directly related, but that's why I'm really curious about Play-Asia's prices. $20 USD PSN cards are super expensive, too, like, $30 if they weren't on sale for $22. I swear I'm logged in as a US resident, too....

A price reduction and some on-board memory isn't worth sacrificing that sweet OLED screen. I'll be getting an original model Vita, even if the cheaper one does come over to the states.

Well that too, the action is more peppy than it was in past games. One moment I'll be sneaking around assassinating and the next I can get a triple kill followed by a melee kill and explosive kill within about 10 seconds.

It looks great, it plays quite well, the sound design is quite good too (playing with headphones), but the frame rate dips let it down. .

I've played the first mission so far and every explosion causes the game to stutter for a few moments. It's quite unpleasant.

It's been pretty stable for me most of the time, usually dips when it's loading or saving. Overall this is a huge technical marvel on vita.

Yup, finally an FPS on the go that is as good as some of my favorite console FPS. And I'm a pretty big fan of the Killzone series so the fact we got another good entry in the franchise is great, I'd put this second I think behind Killzone 2.

So... just got a Vita. I now own the Walking Dead Season One due to the bundle, downloaded Dracula X Chronicles, and will be buying Persona 4 Golden tomorrow. Any recommendations on smaller downloadable games I should get? Also, how good is DOA 5+? And are the Atelier Totori/Meruru games worth checking out?

If you like puzzle-platformers then Stealth Inc is good (also crossplay/buy with the PS3 version). And then there's PS1 and PSP games available for cheap.

Dokuro is worth a look, IMO. There's a demo for Ograrhythm, too, if you have a chance.

DOA5+ is great. And this is coming from somebody who usually dislikes DOA. It's finally all the flash with actual substance to it.

I didn't like Rorona, and the later games are supposed to be more of the same, so I'm baised, but if you don't mind a cute, meandering storyline with some simple RPG gameplay and a strict time limit with completely haphazard time allocations (if it takes a week to go through the nearby woods to gather the ingredients that are essential to progressing a game, then a snail could beat her in a race), then go for it.

Doesn't talk about games.
