Topic: PS4 technical issues are troubling

@skywake
No arguments there. This stuff doesn't tend to bother me anyway. Anyone that bought a faulty PS4 will get one that works eventually from what they've already paid. That should be good enough for people that actually want a PS4, regardless of a few hiccups here and there. It's somewhat disappointing, but that's just how this stuff goes sometimes.

Every console has problems at launch and it doesn't matter who the company is making it. That's the way it goes. The only way to avoid it is to not buy at launch. In the end, all issues will be addressed and all 3 of the major systems will be fine.

First off why is this in the Wii U section?

Second every system has a hiccup on launch day. I guess the OP forgot about all the people saying that their Wii U bricked after the initial update. Very convenient on how these Fanboys only remember when the other system screws up.

Anyway I am sure that the Xbox One will have problems too but honestly they are minor. For one thing how do you know that all those people who are posting problems with their PS4's are actually sincere and aren't just some Nintendo Fanboys making stuff up to make it look worst then it is?

No real rush to play your PS4 at the moment anyway... With all the mediocre launch titles and stuff

@Tasuki
1. That's already been asked, several times.

2. Mentioned on the previous page. Also has been stated that it is more of a user error than a manufacturing fault.

3. You don't but they could easily be PC "fanboys" and XBox "fanboys" or even people who work for sony's competitors, or people just doing it for fun, it could be anyone. Even you.

If i remember rightly the Wii U had a far few problems at launch one of the bigger problems consoles bricking, you also have too take into account how meny Wii U's was sold at this point which was far from one million. Every company expects failure rates and with the PS4 hitting one million in 24 hours it puts things into perspective.

I think its done a lot better then the Wii U plus we will not have to wait for months on end for decent software or almost 12 months for that matter.

And thank god we don't have to suffer something like Nintendoland or Wii U fit don't people use gyms anymore? a real workout. Eat ten cookies its alright because we have Wii U Fit, a virtual workout.

Well, "bricked" Wii U system mainly froze because people unplugged the thing, because they weren't patient or whatever. The only people that are excused are the ones that waited upwards to 1 day. Seriously, otherwise you're an idiot for not being patient, and will try to blame the company.

Some of the PS4s were faulty, either because they were DOA, or someone idiotically unplugged the thing just like some did with the Wii U.

It's still uncomfirmed whether more Wii U or PS4 systems have frozen thus far. Honestly, my bet would be that more PS4s have frozen than Wii Us this far, but again, this isn't "troll" s***. It's an issue that will be met accordingly. All we can do is observe what's going on and leave it behind when it's fixed.

What decent software? You'd be better off not getting one at this point and just sticking with the hardware you have. Battlefield 4, CoD and Assassin's Creed are equally as good on all of the other platforms they exist on. Other than those titles the PS4 doesn't really have that much right now.

Meanwhile Wii U owners don't have to wait at all anymore. Wind Waker HD is out, Pikmin 3 is out, New SMB U is out, Super Mario 3D World is out soon. Then there's Mario Kart and Smash Bros out probably before the PS4 even has a chance to get decent software. So who's waiting for software again?

So... you wait 12 months to get a PS4 over a Wii U so that you can wait a few months instead of having the games now? That's why the "PS4 getting games now" argument doesn't make sense. The Wii U is getting games now, too.

The only difference is that it launched a year ago and it took around 12 months to have a more relevant library of games vs. waiting 12 months for an entirely different console altogether.

I don't have to say anything you said it already.

I get what you mean, but then it comes down to software preference. I guess I understand now that everyone wanted software throughout the past year that would CONVINCE them to want the console(Wii U), but that doesn't change that anyone who has supported the Wii U was already looking forward to what they knew existed. Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Mario, Zelda, etc. is exactly what I have expected and are usually my preferred games when I look back at the end of a generation. I still play Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Pokemon Puzzle League, and Bomberman Blast on my Wii U(in Wii Mode) to this very day.

Those games are the most important to me than any other series from the last generation. Even more than Gears of War 3 or Halo Reach, which were games I used to play on Xbox 360 on a daily basis.

Sony's exclusive library of software is just as much "shrouded" from the present as Nintendo is, so I wouldn't exactly say that Sony is in the clear. The same expectations of people in regards to the Wii U are now passed on to the PS4 for those that have not yet been convinced of what the PS4 has to offer.

I actually don't mind this being here, since I don't go to the other section its good information and I feel that it totally relates to the Wii U since everything that happens to the other two companies (and tablets) has some sort of effect on Nintendo. I remember before launch how the head of Sony said (I think on ign that they were hoping that Wii U did well, I didn't read the article, but I would assume that he was saying that all three of the companies successes and failure affect the others since they also have to fight off all of the phone and tablet gaming, etc.

Oh, and the PS4 has 600 1 star reviews out of 2000 in Amazon complaining about blue pulse of death. That's 30%.

I don't go on Sony forums and rant about how horrible their systems are, I don't go on PC gaming forums and rant about how much more fun Nintendo's content is. I also wasn't going to gloat about how the PS4 is in a worse spot than the Wii U in terms of content at this point even here.

However since you wanted to make a point of it I damn well will. The Wii U currently has six games that have better critical receptions than the best game the PS4 has at launch. The Wii U also has none of the launch teething issues anymore given that it's well clear of those launch issues. Ontop of that the best game on PS4 at this point is better on other platforms. Then there's the next few months where the Wii U gets Super Mario 3D World, Smash Bros U and Mario Kart 8.

I'm sure the PS4 will be great but now is certainly not the time to gloat about it being better than the Wii U. Right now, currently, it's objectively not. Better than the Wii U was at its launch? Maybe. Better than the Wii U now? Hells no.

It relates to the Wii U in the sense that the "Next-gen" launches have proved most dificult. So far both Sony and Nintendo have had their own set of problems regarding their launches, meaning that Xbox will likely fit into that pattern of online hiccups, 1st day update problems, failure rates, and underwhelming EXCLUSIVE launch software.

-Nintendo had problems with the lengthy day one update, weak launch lineup made mostly of last-gen ports.
-Sony has problems with their failure rate (and whether small or large, it's all over the news, which is a loss to Sony), and weak launch lineup.
-Xbox will probably have a combination of symptoms.

Well, I hope everyone enjoys launch anyway. I can't see there being such kind of hype continuing any more. Launch has been overhyped to death, much like E3, and getting crushed by its own weight--and delivering very little to consumers in relation to the hype.
