@longtimegamer: I guess if backwards compatibility is the selling point for you then yeah. I hear that the 80GB models still have the backwards compatibility feature but they are not fully BC like the 60GB models.

@Adam.... if you need more hard drive space then all you have to do is replace the harddrive in the PS3. If im not mistaken you can get a drive thats over 300gig for about 150 bucks. I thinks its a Seagate drive in it. That was in a OPM so I know its trustworthy.

Is it easy to do? I have taken apart computers before, but I'm reluctant to take apart a game console.

Stuffy beat me to this in the other thread. From what Ive read yes its literally take a screw out. The drive slips out. Pop in the new one and replace the screw. It formats and then install your backed up data from a USB from you other HD and bam there you go major HD space and nothing lost. Oh and for the record I recommend backing up Game Saves on a USB cause Ive actually lost some of mine somehow once before.

Just when Nintendo excited me so much with many promising games, Sony hits them in the head with an bat with an price cut. Nice job Sony, you probably will get an new customer by Christmas.

I didn't see Stuffy's other post. Too many PS3 threads on the exact same topic right now, and it's frustrating and disorienting trying to follow along because I am very interested in the topic. So the system installs automatically? I don't need any sort of PS3 disc or anything to format the drive? Just unscrew, rescrew, and ta dah? Sounds beautiful. I may end up doing that instead of getting a Slim. Thanks!

One BIG reason I hadn't got one of these or 360 so far is price. I also think 60$ for the average new game is a bit much too. It'd have to be something pretty big for one.

I guess I'm a cheapskate, but I think $50 is too much, too. Of course, $60 is even worse.

@Adam- You won't see me paying that price very often either. So don't feel alone.

I agree, I like $40 for a new game.

I think games should be free, but yea, $40 would be a nice compromise.

Not entirely. Lots of new Wii games are $40. PS3 has a two or three, too, I think, though not half as much. I just got Phantom Brave (Wii) in the mail; it was $40 and came out last week.

Contrary to my post before, i think maybe i wont get this, i have a wii and a lot of games already, and i already play a lot, i think for my own good i should refrain from buying more games every time i have money lying around, its really not worth it to my benefits in the long run lol, however, if my rents get it for me, thats a different story lol
