Topic: PS3 Phat vs PS3 Slim - Your pick?

I like the overall slim better but i really like the finish of the old one, even with all the fingerprint things, it looks way more advanced than the new one. Both are great, but beyond looks, id give the slim the edge i guess. What about you?

get that hat deal that you were talking about and get uncharted 2 and batman with it

If I had to pick one though, I would go for Phat since it has Backwards compatibility.

get the 160 gb with uncharted deal and you won't be dissapointed. I have a 60 gb phat

man, 299 is a solid price, it is a blu ray and multimedia player in one. Most normal blu ray players which dont give games are way more expensive than a ps3 is now, and the ps3 still has one of the best blu ray players on the market. how can slashing 100 dollars off be too little for u, we cant expect them to make a BLU RAY player and video game console in one free lol

Even if it is a solid price, it could always go lower. And what I mean is 'what's the point of the Slim if the Phat costs just as much', and vice-versa. Until there's clear price difference, I could care less.

EDIT: I checked, and the Phat goes as low as $200 if you know where to look. The Phat wins.

I'd go for the Phat because it's a tank compared to the Slim.

PS3 Phat. The only major difference (assuming you buy one that's not backwards compatible) is you won't be able to install Linux on a PS3 Slim. That's a major turn off for me, so if I ever get one I'm getting the Phat.

who would pay 200 dollars for a wii with almost no internal memory or pay 300 for a ps3 with 120gb a blueray player a much better online and much better games

I would, because the Wii is cheaper, with cheaper games that go down in price fairly quickly.

and mario and sonic at the olympic games are all still 50 dollars to name a few while uncharted mgs4 and ratchet and clank future have all dropped down to 30

I honestly don't care for any of those games. Besides, most of them are fairly cheap used. Meanwhile, the good games like No More Heroes, de Blob, and Okami go for $15-$25 new, and far less used. Heck, even Sonic Unleashed is $10 new(I Gotta remember to get that!). I'll conceed that even the few games I'd be interested in are pretty cheap, though. Still, I was only speaking from a personal standpoint - you asked who would do such a thing, and I spoke up. Simple as that. I simply couldn't afford to keep up with the PS3's library, nor would I want to (don't care for most of the games). Heck, the 360 has already been enough of a financial headache for us.@_@
