Hey NLifers. I finally purchased a PS3, as Nintendo's current home console does close to nothing for me. I'm excited to dive into the world of games that are available, but mostly the online ones that I missed out on. I picked up Modern Warfare 3 and Resident Evil 5 so far. Can you guys and gals suggest some games with healthy online communities? Thanks!

It's not competitive at all, but I still run into other players constantly in Journey.

Oh, there are so many !!!
Some that come to mind: Burnout Paradise, Need for Speed Rivals, Motorstorm-games, COD games (all of them), Injustice: Gods Among Us,... I can go on forever!
But do yourself a favor and get a PS Plus subscription. That way you get 2 vita + 2 PS3+ 2 PS4 games free every month. Even when you don't own a PS4 or vita yet, you can still add these games to your account for when you eventually buy a PS4 or vita.

It's not healthy so much as you can usually find an online match, but Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood has some great multiplayer that is truely innovative and unique. Destiny should be a good online experience as well, but I'd wait for the Taken edition in September.

@MightyKrypto: I appreciate that advice. Are the free games picked for me? @Jaz007: Is Destiny basically Call of Duty in space control wise? I'm a big fan of Call of Duty multiplayer and the perks system.

Demons Souls and Dark Souls. They are still pretty active and the community is amazing

@McGruber: Only as far as basic the FPS button layout goes. It plays a lot differently than COD. You have a fairly sizable jump and then double jump or glide (depending on your class) for navigation, and the time to kill is a lot higher in both PVE and PVP. You have to shoot someone enough that headshots make a real difference. For perks, your class has a lot of different abilities you can switch between. For kill streaks like in COD, there aren't any killstreaks in Destiny. You do have a super meter that charges up from time and kills though, that'll let you unleasha powerful move. This isn't really soemthing for a comparison so much as note about Destiny's controls, but Destiny controls smoother than melted butter.

@McGruber: Yes the games are selected by Sony. Every system gets 2 free games (usualy one indie and one AAA title). And they are games with a metacritic score of at least 75. So it's not some crappy shovelware they give to subscribers every month.
