@CanisWolfred Considering everyone'll most likely be playing brawl, I plan to host something on the side. Any racing game will do, as I already plan to get Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.
Any first person shooter like the COD's or Sonic Riders 1 or 2 but for most multiplayer games you'll need a multitap if you wanna play with 4 people. Also Mortal Kombat is fun. I just remembered, if you can get more PS2's, do a LAN match of Socom or Gran Tourisomo. Lot's of PS2 games support LAN.
Favorite Games: Sonic CD, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, and Mega Man 5. My Backlog
Sonic is AMAZING!! Nintendo is AMAZING!! I AM AMAZING!!
Oh, be warned though, some multiplatform games on PS2 have a worse framerate or have a few glitches so you might want to look into that version of the certain ps2 game your thinking about buying.

What about the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games? I remember playing one, and it had great multiplayer. Out of the four (Ultimate Ninja 1-4), which one is the best?
I played one of those with my bro. I can't remember which one, but it's a type of fighting game that only gets better as it goes. That said, Dragon Ball Z Budokai series is great, especially Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
@CanisWolfred Okay then. I might consider it. Also, since you know so much about RPGs, is FFXII really better than FFX? What about Xenosaga III? Is that game any good?
I think you should just get something else altogether. Do you have a Wii(U) or (3)DS? I usually try to max out my newest consoles with newer games and such. That's usually the better choice IMO.

I already own a Zelda 3DS (and by default OoT3D). That's why I'm asking what the better choices are: I want to have enough to purchase the 3DS games I want as well.

Better choices? The 3DS is great! I could list some good games for that if you wanted....
Back to the PS2, it's VERY hard to say what the best games are. FFX is the one that usually gets more praise than FFXII, but FFXII has its very devoted fans. It's battle system really divided people.
Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass

Xenosaga III is very good, but very slow-paced and wordy. Of course, you'll have to play through Xenosaga 1 and 2 to follow the story, though. As for XII being better than X, it has a better story and some better characters, but your mileage may vary on the gameplay. It's very slow to get going, the combat itself is never that interesting, and the lack of party control early on can be frustrating. However, once you get through the first 10 hours or so, I found that it really got interesting, and I don't think it dragged that much towards the end like most Final Fantasies do.
As for Final Fantasy X, it's a good game. It starts out really strong, the characters are likeable, the story is interesting, and the combat is fun. I really enjoyed the middle, too. But I dunno, I just felt it fell apart in the last 15-20 hours. The story stopped, most of it was filler, most of the characters became rather depressing, and some of them I found very difficult to care about anymore. Particularly Wakka, who was my favorite until about halfway through. The repeating boss battles were a pain as well. The ending made it all worth it, but I'm not really looking forward to playing it all again. Also, I pretty much had to force the game to not be too easy, by not leveling up until I was before a boss battle. Otherwise I could never make use of the fantastic battle system. Oh, and of course, Tidus sucks.
I could list a bunch of RPGs that are worth getting, but please note that most of them are expensive now. I think Xenosaga is the only one that's still cheap, which is odd, since it's a good game.

I see. So you have cash to spare for the most part? $70 for a PS2 is pretty expensive though. You can get a Wii for that much.
The Wii consoles I see for $70 have the GCN BC, too.
I think it's a little too late to change consoles, man. Also, PS2 games are cheaper than Wii games right now, so if he wants to have some spare cash left over, I'd say he made the right choice.

70$ was the PS2 and two really good games (MGS3 and Burnout 3). I'd say that's more worth it.
