I enjoy action RPGs and i was pondering if it would be worth it to pick up the series if I can find it used kinda cheap for all 3 games? I enjoyed the anime of .hack//sign and .hack//gu.
vol. 1 -- 19.99
vol. 2 -- 22.99
vol. 3 -- 27.99
total: 70.97 before tax
and with my 10% discount $63.97 so about as much as a new PS3 game which isn't bad considering im getting 3 games, but i dont know if i have the time or drive to finish them (I also happen to have a stack of unfinished games I am currently trying to get thru).
I guess my question is: Is it fun enough gameplay/storywise to keep me interested enough to keep playing if i get stuck or bored??? For anyone who has played the games or enjoyed the anime, what is your opinion?

I love .Hack, but as games, the combat is pretty poor. I mostly play them for the story, and seeing as how G.U. is a movie now (I haven't got it yet...) I would just buy that.

Might be able to get them even cheaper at a site like eBay or Amazon. I have not personally checked but I did see one of the .hack games for sale at 9.99 buy it now a while back on eBay. Might be worth a look. I have not played them but I had a friend that had the first two volumes and he seemed to like them a lot.

Or now I'm considering getting Demon's Stones instead.

Remade into a single game for the Wii would be awesome... Though if this happens it seems more likely that these 3 games would be put up on the PSN store.

A game series about a MMORPG on a Nintendo system, now that would be funny.
