Hi there!

I've had a prototype pokemon mini for a while and looking to sell. Where would i be able to get a valuation?

Its dated 2001 and has a code on the back suggesting it was the 3rd made in this sample edition...have been told it was never mass produced in this colour too.

Thanks in advance!

Ah okay, you don't have a prototype, you just have the Whooper Pokemon mini.

NiB they go for around $100, but that isn't NiB, and it's missing a battery plate, so it's most likely valued around $30-40.

Oh and you're also missing the game it was bundled with.

I'm not sure who told you it was a prototype, or that it was never mass produced because they're super wrong.

@Danksparce Have uploaded a few more images with back and one of the games.

The unit came straight from Nintendo when i helped design an exhibition stand for them in the UK.

I've had a look at all other minis and the battery cover is different and this particular colour doesn't seem to exist. What do you think?...searched for whopper mini and didn't find anything similar.

thanks!!

Ah consider me corrected then, though it's a show model not a prototype.

As to how much it's worth? Honestly I have zero idea, I tried to find another example of one for sale and I couldn't. It's a very interesting item though, if you have a chance I'd contact a video game museum (linked below) and share the pictures to see if they have any idea.
