I have been a PC gamer for many years now, and never have I experienced an issue like this before. I was playing Crysis 3 for the first time yesterday, and the game ran well on high setting, but i turned it down to medium to ensure I was getting maximum FPS and turned off AA. The game ran perfectly. I played for a few hours with no excessive heat or frame rate problems. I played again today, same settings, no other programs open, no difference to what I had before. Except this time, the lag was pretty bad, very bad actually. I didn't have an FPS counter on but i would estimate about 20FPS, and so i turned the settings to low, and restarted the game, still about 20 FPS. I can't seem to figure out what is wrong, nothing has changed between plays, any ideas on what is happening?

Have you checked what processes are running? Open up task manager and see if anything's taking up a lot of the CPU/Memory that might not have been there before.
Also; Not sure if you're playing online but it might also be that your connection is slower for some reason.

I make Pixel Art on occasion, and sometimes sell them as Game Assets.
Help bring Dragon Quest back to the West, so we can all resume having fun. :)

Tried checking the processes again, turned off everything that wans't needed for the OS, became bearable on Low settings. I found out that for some reason AF was on 16x, turned that to 1x, but alas, not impovement, maybe i'll restart my PC again. thanks for the idea @Geonjaha
