@edhe So, this one lets you conquer planets? Well... MMMMaybe I'm interested. I have Civ III in my Steam Library, but I could never get around to playing it. The amount of information at throws at you can be staggering. It feels like you have to know a lot of things beforehand in order to play it properly. Maybe this one will be a little more newcomer-friendly?

Source (via Neogaf

I'm getting differing information from both sources present - one suggests you start on Earth, and travel to this new planet, while another source (a French website - check Neogaf post #3) suggests you can colonise several planets.

In any case, the game will resemble Civ V, as opposed to say, GalCiv ("Civilization" in space), right down to the city plopping and hex grid.

I played some Tropico 4 today. I hooked up my laptop to the living room TV, and used my wireless noise to controll it. I really like playing it that way. I also tried Orcs Must Die!2 like that, but I was using my Dualshock 4 with it. Great way to play that game too.

Currently playing: Sacred Gold, Valkria Chronicles, Rune Factory 4, 007 Blood Stone, and Uncharted 3.

It works as a PC gamepad if plug the USB charging cable into the computer, and I don't know if there is a way to do wireless. I highly reccomend you try it out though.

That's fine with me and thanks for the info. I have used a wired 360 controller before but I have always liked the feel of the PS controllers though. I will have to try this out soon.

The 360 controller is far, far superior to the DS - it's definitely worth the price.

As others have said, though, if you're playing FPSs, switch to mouse/keyboard unless you just want to pad everyone else's scores. :)

Not sure if you are talking to me but as I stated I just like the feel of the PS controller over the 360. And I never play FPS games I am not a 12 year old with a foul mouth or a stoner living in my parents basement. :P

Have you actually used the Dualshock 4? While I always preferred DS, the DA4 is far suprior to the DS3.

I have, though my comment above was specially referring to the earlier iterations. The DS4 fixes a lot of the controller line's issue, but I still consider the 360 controller to be better. It has a better overall shape, better feel on the analog sticks, and the correct placement of the left analog stick. Sadly, neither Microsoft nor Sony seem to be able to create a decent D-Pad.

While that does describe a lot of modern FPS's, there are exceptions.

You don't even have to go that far - games like the Fallout, Thief (the original duo, not the godforsaken abomination of a remake), and even ZombiU are often called FPS games by some. However, each of the above all are defined better by other genres. FPS is used a bit too broadly, unfortunately.

Since I don't own a 360 wired controller, or the receiver needed to use a wireless 360 controller on PC, I've been looking into ways to use my Wii U Pro Controller on my new computer. I found few results, and they seemed a bit... sketchy, to say the least. Has anyone been able to set up a Wii U Pro Controller for their PC here, and if so, what method did you use?

There's probably a way to do it - I have an adapter that allows me to connect my Gamecube controller to my computer, and I imagine that would be even easier to do for the Pro controller. A quick search found this:

Try something like Crusader Kings 2 makes Civ III look like Kirby.

The Mayflash adapter Wii U Pro Controller Adapter does work problem is it use a literal mapping (Wii U - A to 360 - A etc). So you might need to mess around with Durazno. (To put the mapping back to a sensible way.)

If I was to buy a controller now I would get the Hori 360 one (It has a decent dpad).

No way I would mess around allowing unsigned drivers.
