I apoligize for being rude here, but after New Years Day, I'm going to stop buying any video game products and save up for an Playstation 3 (With an exception to my birthday). Luckily, I should be able to get a job then which will make owning the system in 2010 a lot easier. Expect me to own the system during the summertimes or around Christmas of next year. If not then, then I will remain an Wii-only owner for the rest of this gaming generation.
@Stuffy How hard was the platnium for batman. How long did it take because i got it for xmas and finding it real fun. @Slappy I'm like the opposite to you. I love the predator challenges but dislike the combat ones. I find it's much more tactical and needs time to work out how you're going to do it whereas combat is just killing bad guys for the heck of it.
@nintendogamerftw: I can't say for the first question, but I can attempt to explain the PSN online. It has everything that the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection has except classic games to a certain extend and a lot more. You can play with up to 256 players online (MAG proves that), chat with anyone and not just friends, the online is free (Althought there is the Premium option), demos for downloadable and retail games, be able to download movies and TV shows off of it, watch Blu-Ray movies (DVD too), had Home, etc, etc. In short, it's far superior to Nintendo Wi-fi Connection.
@aiden: Oh, nice to see you back on the thread. Batman was a pretty tough Plat, but certainly not the hardest I've earned (that would probabably still be Eat Lead). I found the Predator Challenges easier to work out than the Combat ones, no question. With the Combat, it's simply a matter of REALLY getting to know the battle system as well as the match you're playing. It took me a while, but it wasn't TOO bad, I guess. I can't give you an exact time, but it was pretty lengthy, especially since I went through the story twice (not sure if you can skip straight to Hard or not, but I wouldn't recommend it either way).
@SSBF: Why would we be mad you're posting? You're certainly welcome to join our group, and I for one don't at all mind an update on your PS3 owning potential. One thing, though: The Premium PSN membership isn't actually available yet. That's still in the planning stages right now.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
If anyone wants a hard platinum try cod classic it is a real challenge you will want to throw your controller at your tv screen it is so hard you will die ALOT it requires lots of skill and paitence. Probably the hardest Platinum I have achieved harder than mw2 spec ops

I don't mind a challenge, so long as it's at least SOMEWHAT reasonable. That said, I only go for Trophies in games I'm interested in playing in the first place. Call of Duty is not one such game.

You know what i think, gamer achievements and platinum Trophies can suck it . "Ohh look at me I'm a trophy whore ". The Trophies system needs to die ,seriously who cares . Plus gamers who aren't that good, it discourages them when they can't get them. I'll never care how many trophies I'll get and certainly dont care about another person's trophies. I just think it's pointless. wow that came off harsh sorry..
@odd69: You're right...that DID come of harsh. REALLY harsh. I don't expect everyone to appreciate the Trophy system, but I would appreciate it if nobody bashed it like that here (or ideally anywhere, though of course that isn't going to happen).
Trophies may be totally superficial, but they can lead gamers to try things they wouldn't otherwise try in games...up to and including actually finishing them. They can provide a sense of accomplishment. Even though they're technically worthless, they still make me feel like I've accomplished more than when I play games that DON'T have them (though a properly maintained Backloggery can help with that as well).
I can respect your opinion that Trophies don't matter; please respect mine opinion that they do. Their existance isn't really hurting you anyway, is it? Unless reading through our posts about them really bothers you THAT much...

I can understand people who like them and very well respect their opinion . I don't care if you make a billion post about them i just don't like them personally. It has it's purpose I'm sure. I'm partly bitter because I'm not happy that sony did them . They Basically copied 360's achievements system and just called them trophies i think Sony should have did something unique, not like Microsoft. What do you guys think?
I think trophies are a passive addition anyway they are there for those that want them and can be easily ignored by those that don't care. I personally like having an incentive to continue playing or completing objectives that go beyond completing the campaign, Sony were supposed to be doing something unique by having your trophies displayed as 3D objects inside Home also I heard a rumour of Sony rewarding platinum trophies with exclusive beta codes & demos
Call of Duty is very fun and not resonable at all you have as much life as your enemies they always know where you are and you will die a lot. It is relistically unfair with no health packs and 2 shots your dead.
Yesterday I got three trophies in avatar and when I go to my trophy collection it shows up as 25% and when I compare trophies with friends it is only 22% and when I check my recent trophies only 2 are there the first one I got yesterday doeswn't show up and it doesn't add more percentage to m profile. Does anybody know how to sync that one trophy
i don't really care for getting trophies. i play games to have fun and temporarily escape from reality i do wonder how many i would've achieved if they had them back in Atari days tho i still have that system, ya know!
I got you two new guys an invite sent your way Welcome to our thread and PSN, Im sure you will enjoy both lol.
@SuperSmash.... dude ANYONE can use this thread (with exceptance to 360/PS3/Wii rants that go on and on, as we have plenty of those elsewhere here on NL ) Hope you can eventually get a PS3 and start having fun, Im sure the price drop will help you get there faster. I wish I would have know myself as I bought my 2nd PS3 merely weeks before the drop.
@Odd.... I can see where some people wouldnt like the trophy system, but as its Free and doesnt change the games I dont see any reason to get too terribly irate about its existence. Though I do get frustrated with the accomplishments a gamer has to go through to get some of the Platinum Trophies, I simply refuse to Bore myself to get a Platinum, BUT a good example of a good reason they are there, wrappin up Arkam Asylums story trophies involved finding all the Riddler Challenges wich unlocked a lot on extras in the game that are fun reads if you like the Batman Universe and not to mention it was just fun going back to the game as I prob wouldnt have had I not had trophies to bag for it.
@castle.... Congrats on the Cod Classic Platinum. That is a Flippin Tough game and you well deserve some praise for gettin that one my man. MW2 doesnt seem to be too bad. Me and my brother (who is phenominal in MW) knocked out a few Spec Op missions easily on Veteran but my internet is causing issues with lagg so had to quit until my signal amp comes in tommorrow.
@Stuff..... Im like you, I like the sense of accomplishment that trophies add to gameplay a lot. I don't like having unfinished games on the trophy list but I honestly just dont care to infuriate myself with some games for the Platinum. Unless its a rented game I dont have anymore, I usually tend to get them at least above the 75% range, and Im cool with that........ for example Wanted Weapons of Fate, I would have to play throught the game 3 more time (3 already completed) to get Platinum, and I might eventually but I seriously doubt it.
