First they were sued for the wii remote control, then they were sued for the 3DS(Btw, did Nintendo win the case or how did it end up with?) and now they are sued for the Wii U motion controls.....WHAT THE HELL DO PEOPLE HAVE AGAINST NINTENDO??????? Wasn't motion controls already done before ilife even began????? Seriously, fans need to really think about this and support Nintendo at all costs

they sue Nintendo because it seems Like it does a poor job with technology patents.

Thanks for making me LOL. Every big company has some lawsuit of some sort out against it. The world doesn't have it out for Nintendo. Also I, without even looking this up, can tell you it's not motion controls. It's probably either the tech used or parts used. This is just how the world of business operates. Now, welcome to the real world where it isn't all sunshine and smiles all day, every day.

The real world is garbage.

And so is the world you just described.

Why do we have another Nintendo sued thread? Did the other thread get sued?

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Nintendo needs to stop stealing other people's stuff. Problem solved.

That's what my bro would always say and so what if I'm not much in the real world often? Sure all this happens to big companies especially EA but the thing is this shouldn't be such a problem for Nintendo because they are just using what Sony and Microsoft are doing so basically, they should be sued as well.

As for the 3DS, that guy should just let go of the case and just leave it because while he did pitch the patent to Nintendo, it wasn't in a handheld device and that there was a depth slider that lowers the 3D effect. So even if Nintendo did lose the case, it should be pointed that these are Nintendo's patents and such.

All they needed to do was just keep beefing up the GameCube every generation. Problem solved.

This is not unique to Nintendo. If you want to see bad lawsuits, check out Wikipedia's page on Disney (yes, they have a full page)

This is just normal business thats all. Some are just people looking to make a quick buck i.e. patent trolls others think they have legitimate cases that's all. Heck even Universal Pictures at one time sued Nintendo for copyright infringement cause of Donkey Kong.

But will Nintendo have to abandon 3D just so they can continue making games for it?

Of course not. At the most they'll just have to pay that guy for using his patent.

Besides its a small fraction only 1.82% for each unit sold. I know it does add up when you take in account how many 3DS will be sold in the world but still that's noting it's not like it will cause Nintendo to go out of business. Also keep in mind that Nintendo can and probably will appeal the verdict.

Exactly. Its not gonna hurt Nintendo at all but that guy is gonna be making some good money.

It's all just the cost of doing business, and tremendously common for any large corporation. Ain't no skin off Nintendo's nose.

You can't patent an idea. Knowledge is meant to be shared, not stored away and profited from. I am disappointed with the world. Business sucks.

I can see why patents and copyright would be important to some people, but of course, like any other idea, there's that percentage that abuses it and ruins it for everyone

If there were no benefits from creating new products (i.e. making $$$$$$) we would all be living in the Stone Age still.
