Thanks for all the replys!
I have two questions I would appreciate if they get answered:
First,I don't have a classic controller so my questions is: are the controls weird on Street Fighter II if I use a GC controller?
Seondly,I got Soul Calibur II from my friend today and I wonder what character is the best to start with?
Please reply!
Also,I own a Wii,PS2,PS3 and a 360 so feel free to recommend a good beginner fighting game on these consoles!

SFII on a GC pad? That sounds rough. Workable, but less than ideal.
As for games on other systems, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on XBLA is good for newbies, as you can do alright without having to know every move.

There is a Street Fighter Anthology for PS2. It has all versions of Street Fighter II and also one version of Street Fighter III. It should be pretty cheap used, and the PS2 controller would be much better than the GCN controller.

Come on, friends,

Im sorry I think I stated Soul Calibur 3 up there, I meant 2. I would actually start with Link in it. You prob are familar with his moves and he has good ranged attacks and was really easy to learn. Other than than, Cassandra is a pretty easy character to pick up and play.

If you have a 360/PS3 get marvel vs capcom 2. It's loads of fun, played quite a bit at a friends place.

There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore

If you're going for a portable fighter then Jump! Ultimate Stars is the best one, it's like smash bros.

Street Fighter 2. It is THE fighting game. The game every other game is based on. If you enjoy that, you'll likely enjoy any other fighting game out there.

As for your Soul Caliber character question, Talim quickly became my go to. I found her extremely easy to use with decent power and good speed.

Can you still find people online for MvC2 on Playstation 3? Same question about SF2: HD Remix.

I'm probably getting one not both, and it's leaning towards MvC2. But only if you can still get some online matches going.

I just downloaded Mortal Kombat 2 on psn for the hell of it. Problem is I can't remember hardly any of the moves and I just get slaughtered... or spam sub zero ( even that doesn't work so well).

Any tips, or should I just give up and go back to SF2?

MvC 2 has always had a following, so finding some matches shouldn't be too tough. They might just be the die hard fans that know every character front to back, though.

Soul. Calibur. II. I completely suck at classic fighting games, Smash Bros being the only fighting game I can play. I picked this up for GC strictly for Link, and had a blast playing it. The combos are simple to learn, gameplay is flawless once you figure it out, and the graphics are straight-up great. Unlocked every weapon and costume, and finished every side quest (if that's what you could call them) in weapon master mode. BUY NOW!

The only other classic-style fighting game I kicked butt at was a freakin' Naruto: Clash of Ninja game. Great game, old franchise.

I'm pretty sure I think I'm funnier than I really am.
