Anyone have the feeling that New super Mario Bros just doesn't feel "new" at all?

It will feel new for the ones who haven't played it yet, including the ones who are not born yet, ever think about them?

I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!

I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!

Yoshi

While NSMBU was the best in my opinion, it does seem to be a bit bland. I wish they would change it up like they did in the past.

Super Mario Bros. was different from 2 which was different from 3 which was different from World.

NSMB is similar to NSMBW which is similar to NSMB2 which is similar to NSMBU.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

NSMB: Boring, but cool at the time.
NSMBW: It expanded on the first one, and it was pretty fun.
NSMB2: The exact same as the Wii version. It was fun, but holy crap it's the EXACT same game as the Wii version.
NSMBU: Reskin of the Wii version.

Not to mention, the artstyle for these games are horrible. Plastic grass FTW!
New Super Mario Bros. is my least favorite Nintendo franchise.

Smash Mains:
N64: Captain Falcon
Melee: Mario
Brawl: Sonic
Project M: Link
Smash 3DS: Captain Falcon
Smash Wii U: Ganondorf

The first two were ok...but they're all basically the same game. Change the freakin' theme already!

I honestly don't want to see another Mario game unless it's a true 3D Mario game in the same vein as 64/Sunshine/Galaxy.

This pretty much describes myself and everybody I've heard talk about it in the past 3 years.

I actually like the series, but the rehashed graphics, music and worlds was a bit annoying. Come on Nintendo, add a galaxy world and a music world like Melody Motorway!

Also, if Nintendo used their 'Big Band' for music and new world ideas, maybe a new art style and BOOM! Fans are more interested*.

It's good for entertaining my little cousins, but that's about it.
I find them to be incredibly bland and uninspired. I will admit that NSMBU is the best out of the bunch though. I liked it more than the others. I'd sooner play Mario 3 on NES though.

i have to wonder, what is the point of the lives system anymore. New Super Mario Bros 2 has it, but the coin gimmick thing just make it pointless.

They're fun games, but obviously missing that little spark that makes games like Mario 3, SMW, Galaxy, 3D World, etc. so magical and entertaining.

Yeah, I thought this must be a necroed thread or something.

I can't speak for NSMB2, but it felt like each game was new enough. For me, at least.

So far I have refused to get NSMB2, being the only main Mario I haven't played. It feels so rehashed and cynical, even for NSMB standards.

I wonder if the 3D games are better for EAD Tokyo being on the helm. Their games feel special. They have that soul the New series seems to be missing.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

Dark-Luigi

The series has been going on with the same thing way too long, surprised they didn't stop at Bros. Wii. Bros. U was fun and all, but really, it wa the exact same, and don't get me started on Bros. 2.

Like @Dreamz said, unless it's another 3D Mario, I'm not getting whatever mario game comes my way.

They should've called it: Again, Super Mario Bros.

The games are ''okay''.. Better Mario games exist, and better 2D platformers exist.

This. I'm tired of these mediocre Mario games. Even PM: Sticker Star was disappointing compared to it's predecessors.

New Super Luigi U should have been the main Wii U game (But full length stages playable by both Mario and Luigi).

I like the World with the red and blue switches in NSMBU.

The original DS one I think has better levels than NSMB2 or NSMBW. (But NSMBW has the Newer mod which shows the only real problem with it was the level design).

The games suffer from some very bland level design. I recall a level in NSMBW that was practically a flat plain with a Lakitu and the shrinking and expanding placed in an incredibly unimaginative fashion.
