Remember that Sony charges publishers for each download of their content from the PSN, it doesn't matter if it's a demo, they have to pay, plus Sony also keeps a fraction of the sale price for non-free content... on the other hand, publishing for Xbox LIVE Arcade Independent and PC services like Steam (and the AppStore too, right?) only costs you a small fraction of the games price, it's wiser to release on Xbox LIVE, PC and iPhone first, then move to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (as far as I know, they use the same model as Microsoft and VALVe... only difference is that you have to buy a DevKit for their plattforms, while XNA is free and just $99 for a year subscription to the creator's club...)
At least that's what my plan is... I have to graduate first (my project is gonna be a game of course lol, PC only, but won't see the light of day anyway since University keeps the rights to it, and being a public university, it can't be arranged to be sold)

Thank You for the constructive criticism everyone! i think we have finally hit on a design choice we like. i would also like to announce that Pixel Mix is very very close to being done. Just a few bugs to iron out and the demo will hopefully be out in the next few days followed shortly by the full game!
It's not coming out on XBLA ( Xbox Live Arcade). It's come out on XBLIG ( Xbox Live Indie Games). MS takes i think 30%. I will try your demo and if it's any good i will buy it. Good luck. There are over 600 games on XBLIG. Most games don't sell many because they are not very good.
I don't know if $2 means your selling it at 240 MS points. Is the file size to big to sell at 80 MS points?.
Again good luck chaps. I would love to know your first week sale numbers when it comes out.
Yes, it is true that not many XBLIG become very popular but because we spent basically nothing to make this game, all the money goes straight to profit. Currently we are offering two different price points. This game will sell for one dollar on Xbox and two dollars on PC. This is because the PC version will receive free updates on bugs as well as content. It's much harder to do this Xbox because every update has to go through the reviewing process. Thanks for the comments on the website, I do think it looks pretty good now
Hello everyone. I'm happy to announce that the Pixel Mix demo is now available from the Quarantine-Games website under the "games" tab. Comments and concerns are appreciated as always.
suggestion: try putting up a mirror on a site like mediafire.com so that you don't load and consume all your bandwidth with the demo... plus, for some reason, your server speed isn't the best, not going faster than 200 KB/s at the moment for me...
I'll try the demo, and will probably get it for both PC and Xbox LIVE Indie Games if I like it that much.

Hey guys! I'm very glad to report that full version is now up for purchase! Check it out if you are interested and of course check out the demo as well. Thank you guys for helping us with this!
Wow you guys are pretty much still kids and already have a game being released. Thats pretty impressive in itself. Pretty motivated as well. Keep up the good work.
Hey guys. Our first game, Pixel Mix, has oficially been approved and is now available on Xbox live indie games! it costs 80 microsoft points. If you have an Xbox, try the demo and give us a sale if you like what you see. Even if you don't have an Xbox, tell people you know who do have an Xbox to try it out. Quarantine Games would be nothing without a customer base so thank you for your support now and in the future!
Hey, I'm trying to go to your website, but it says that it was taken down...
Ummm...yeah. We had to take it down momentarily because since we had no money coming in we couldn't afford the hosting fees. Hopefully if Pixel Mix sells well, we can re-launch it.

Oh, I understand. I played the demo on Xbox Live, and it was fun. Too easy, though.

While the difficulty does start out relatively low, it definitely picks up in the later levels where you must piece blocks together very fast while trying to not doom youself for future moves. Anyway, Thank you for trying our game out!
