Topic: Need a serious, educated answer to an age old question...

Been wanting another console besides the Wii. So it's either the PS3 or the Xbox 360. I really only want one of these two for only a handful of games (BioShock series, Elder Scrolls, etc.). I also don't intend to pursue online play for either of these consoles. So, NL, please give me guidance on which console to choose!

I suspect this is going to get locked, but...

I much prefer the PS3 to my Xbox 360. There's a greater range of the kinds of games I like (RPGs), and I prefer the feel of the controller. I use the Xbox more for the non-gaming applications (PayTV, DVDs) than the gaming.

Indeed it does, Choco. And yes I too suspect this get locked. I take it you own a PS3, then. Have you AT ALL experienced any "game breaking" or "system breaking" bugs or glitches with it? Cause that's all I here about the PS3.

Unfortunately, these 'should i buy' or 'system1 vs. system2' threads usually wind up degenerating into bickering, and the forums have been so touchy lately that i'm gonna shut this down while we're ahead, lol. You're more than welcome to peruse some of the surviving topics if you like; hopefully they'll help you make your decision.
