What console do you think that wasn't made by Nintendo, felt very Nintendo-esque in spirit? For me, it was the Dreamcast. At the time of it's release, it was quirky and somewhat unconventional. Plus, several of the system's most well known games like Chu Chu Rocket, Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel 5, Power Stone, etc. wouldn't feel out of place on something like the Wii or DS.

The Sega Genisis. It had the same types of games the SNES does.

The Sega Genesis and the Playstation both feel like a Nintendo console to me. The Playstation library looked like the SNES library on steroids and the Sega Genesis feels so much like the SNES that sometimes I can't tell if I'm play a Genesis or SNES game.

The Dreamcast because of its ambitious, innovative ideas and a great variety of Nintendo-like games.

What I also liked about the Dreamcast was that though it was a powerful system at the time of it's release, most of it's games didn't rely so much on pollygon pushing realism as they did on vibrant colors and strong art direction. Soul Calibur for example, still looks great to this day, mainly thanks to it's great art design.

The PS1 looking on the RPG and platformer side of things.

PS2, by a country mile. I honestly preferred it and its library to most Nintendo systems. Or I'd choose the PS Vita if we're counting handhelds and just going off of their technical features.

I can't read...

Anyways, I'd say the most Nintendo-like Non-Nintendo console was the Turbographx-16: It was behind the times, overshadowed by its competitors, and was largely supported by first-party games. :T

Well if you are talking about how games looked and felt, I would say the original PS. Alot of their platforms like Crash, Spyro, along with RPGS like Suikoden and Wild Arms felt like they could belong on an Nintendo System.

PS1 in terms of games definitely. That might've been more about the graphical level at the time though. Cartoony styles were used more back then than they are now. Partly just because they look better at a low polycount. Which is why a lot of the more realistic looking games ended up going with prerendered bgs.
