But seriously were probably about to get an hd remake annoucment since it was announced on Microsoft's xbla site.

Its about time. I hope its for a KI3 but than again I wont complain if its a port of the the arcade versions of KI and KI2 for the XBLA.

i do hope so that they will put arcade versions of KI and KI2 on the xbla and that it will be the 4J studios to make it all HD and stuff, like they did with banjo-kazooie, banjo tooie and perfect dark =) KI3 is not happening check this article on the bottom where it says legacy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_Instinct and you will see why ( damn you M$ )! but still this is the best xbox news in years in my opinion =)

An Arcade perfect version of the original would be pretty boss. And I never use the word "boss." My favorite fighting game in the arcades when I was younger. KI3 would be incredible but if the quotes found in the Wiki article above are accurate, looks like there's little hope. Maybe if they sell a bunch of XBLA copies they'll see there's a market for a new one?

No offense but I take stuff in Wikipedia with a grain of salt. That could just be one of the authors opinions.

hear me out, remember why banjo kazooie nuts & bolts was not a 3D platformer? because M$ was more interested in broadening their demographic... so if rare was to make a new KI game it would not be a 2D arcade fighter but something else, something that M$ want's them to do, just like banjo-kazooie nuts & bolts... i take stuff from wikipedia with a grain of salt too, but not this article i do think it's accurate

Well looks like Microsoft has been denied the Killer Instinct trademark do to a Fox show that aired one season. I wonder if this could be the reason that KI never made it to the VC? Maybe the fact that they would have to call it something else now would confuse people and thus it wouldnt get a whole lot of sales. Not only that but Nintendo has claimed that they only want the original form of the game on the VC and they want to avoid as much changing as possible from the original form. As for XBLA the reason could be that they would have to change the name as well and that goes back to confusing people.

Also, my brain hurts from reading some of the comments on that article. It is at times dumbfounding how stupid and wllfully ignorant people can be.

KI never made it too VC because nintendo doesn't own the IP.

If its just for an HD port I think theymight just call it KI:Killer Insticnt. If its for a whole new game then I expect them too try harder to get the trademark.
