-Gears 3 looked pretty incredible
My thoughts as Im watching it as I was at work when it aired!

-They said Crytek was a "new partner" for Microsoft, but yet Crysis 2 is coming to PS3 and Crytek themselves have stated that they have pushed way further on PS3 than 360 with it because of the PS3 being more powerful.... either way the trailer for the new 360 exclusive looked really cool.
-The complete lack of applause at what they obviously thought was going to be a major hit with the COD exclusive timeframe downloads was laughable as nobody but maybe 10 people applauded.
-Voice Recognition is cool but hardly new, and the the social video voice chatting. The hardcore gaming machine become facebook.... WTF!
-ESPN on 360 is cool though.
-Kinectimals.... looks great for kids, really impresive tech demo. Really impresive. Kids only for sure, but still really impresive.
-Kincect Sports... not too impressive at all.
-Kinect Joyride.... OMG did they really just show this pile of S.... the future of gaming apparently has auto acceleration and no braking. Imagine that, they same crap that makes driving games so limited on data phones, you cant accelerate and brake. Yeah Microsoft, this is really the future of driving game. Sorry I cant believe they showed something this f..... up.
-Kinect Adventures looks like a bit of limited fun but doesnt look like something Id play for hours on end at all. Would be fun with a few people over, but only until you got tired as crap and gave out lol.
-Harmonix has found a great way to use Kinect with Dance Central. This one looks like fun. Great use of Kinect. Looks like you could really learn some stuff off this one, aye this could actually get some gamer dweebs a girlfriend lol.
-Forza Kinect.... again "The Future of Racing".... YOU CANT ACCELERATE AND BRAKE WITH IT! Im a racing fanatic and learning the apex is the core of racing, not turning. This is NOT the future of racing games... NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT
-Im a Star Wars diehard and this Kinect games looks like Sh*t.
-Now the 360 looks a lot like the PS3 lol

Overall.... Its wasnt bad, but not the best year for Microsoft. Kinect is impressive tech, but only Kinectibles and Dance Central impressed my, my wife is really interested in Dance Central, but pricing is going to be a big factor. There isnt enough here to warrant a purchase. Also the fact that Microsoft hardcore fans (majority of all owners) are only getting new Fable, Halo and Gears mainly and NOTHING on Kinect. Microsoft is seriously looking like they are about to start loosing there hardcore fanbase just like Nintendo did!

Yeah Microsoft was very weak

They didn't really show any new games except for a mere clip of some Crytek game

Almost all their time was spent on their motion thingy and a lot of people aren't even going to give it the time of day at that price.

The new 360 is nice but that just seemed like a lame attempt to buy off the press.

@Alex... I simply cant believe they showed that stupid car racing game, it was horrid and not to mention Forza. Did they really think we wouldnt realize that because you have no controller and both arms are used to steer that you couldnt allow for accelaration and braking wich are vital to racing games? Come on Microsoft.

On the other hand, Dance Central looks amazing. My hot wife said she would love shaking her booty to it, and heck I would with her Kinect does look impressive and it really does have a lot of potential, but judging by the 15 games they showed available at release, right at all are shovelware and/or workout games. Its Wii all over again with NO FPS or Core games at ALL shown. Not impressive Microsoft, not impressive at all.

i gotta say, i wasn't too impressed with Kinect up until they demoed that fitness game and the dance game. those were kinda cool. idk if they'd be worth the price of Kinect if i owned a 360, though. :3

I have to say, after watching the Star Wars Kinect trailer (below) a couple more times, it starts to look pretty terrible. At first I thought that this might be their one big chance; after all, a significant (or at least loud) constituent of gamers has been asking for a 1:1 lightsaber game for ages. While this trailer is still clearly for something that is in the early stages, it's already pretty obvious how limiting the gameplay formula will be.

It's honestly not looking much more advanced than a slightly-souped up EyeToy game where you try to wave around and hit things in the screen. All action takes place in the form of things running up to attack you, and you fend them off within your small area of movement; then, you shift the stage forward a bit to encounter more. There is no indication of any real control over the general character movement beyond those two activities.

Sony's Wand actually stands a much better chance of implementing a good saber game, since it's more like nunchuck+MotionPlus, with plenty of buttons to control a character while working your arm flails. This game looks like a huge letdown in the making for the 1:1-lightsaber constituency. Note: I'm not one of those who even asked for such a thing, but it might be fun if pulled off better than this.

Overall it was a disappointment and a letdown, so it gets a traditionally above average grade?

I haven't been in the business of watching live videos of E3 long, but it's easily the worst presentation I've yet seen. I missed the Star Wars part though, which sounded kind of interesting. A bunch of Wii rip-offs, expected sequels that look exactly the same as always, a device that makes your favorite applications more complicated to use unless you are not familiar with using a directional pad and a button to select things (i.e. an idiot, or perhaps only a deceased idiot), more applications that you can surely find on a computer already and in better form, and Metal Gear Rising... which I'm on the fence about. Looks more like Devil May Cry, which I don't like. But it's Metal Gear, so it'll likely be more interesting, and hopefully on PS3, too, if so.

You didn't miss much from missing Star Wars. It wasn't impressive at all. Nothing you haven't already seen on Wii and Move.

I haven't seen a game like that on the Wii, or Move.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Slapshot

@ random..... that's because on wii and move you have controllers and can move your character around. There was no gameplay to it at all. You can't move your character, only swing your arms around.

They claim kinect had no limitations but it has shown now to have more limitations than wii and move. It has the same limitations as the droid in my hand.

One thing Microsoft has announced at E3 that, from a business point of view is very intelligent, is that is has announced it will be expanding Xbox Live into nine new territories this year - South Africa, Russia, Brazil, Chile and Columbia amongst them.

Latin America in particualr has long been considered as a future gold mine for the gaming business, but one that's also got its fair share of problems, and to date has had lip service paid (if at all). Microsoft is doing a wise thing investing in a proper expansion into new markets.

Damn too bad I don't have an XBLA...that Castlevania looks niiiiiice.

Bow ties are cool - The Doctor

warioswoods

It looks like the sprites from Castlevania came pretty much directly from the DS games (as far as I could tell from those brief clips, anyhow). Looks like fun, and would be a better fit for the Wii in my mind, but oh well.

Confirmation of the multi-player Castlevania blows their entire E3 presentation out of the water for me.

What?! I didn't even know about that one.

But yeah, knowing nothing, just the words "multi-player Castlevania" make it definitely the most interesting reveal.

Quoted for truth. This is (IMHO) the best MS announcement I've heard so far.

The only thing I liked was the Your Shape: Fitness Evolved demo/Trailer. The Kinect version of Your Shape seems to do what the Wii version was supposed to do.

Might be best if you can change the codeword. I have the feeling that if you are playing Xbox with friends and family, the word Xbox may come up in conversation now and again and just confuse the heck out of the thing. I could see Kinect tilting itself as if to say, Huh?

I would name mine Sir Bopkins Jr.

@ chicken.... I'm must brutally honest man. The technology was awesome. But other than casual gaming i don't see the hardcore appeal.

I saw potential for fun games, but fun games I did not see.
