The Good:
Kinect looks great as an "interface" tool. Really does, very cool to go through the menu like that.

Personally, I will continue to have reservations about this until I see it in action. I can't imagine that my hand movements will be read correctly whether or not I'm sitting, leaning, lying down, slouching, whatever...nor can I imagine that it won't register my change in position as some kind of desire to turn the movie off or skip a chapter. To say nothing of the cat darting from left to right in front of me fast-forwarding the film...but I admit, until I see it in action, I'm probably assuming the technology to be less advanced than it really is. I can accept that.

But here's the thing...even if we accept that Natal / Kinect / Wizzlewazzle works flawlessly as a remote control...that's one heck of an expensive remote control. If that's the best thing it can do, and the most I can hope for it to do well (as the jerky, flickering avatars in much of the footage so far do suggest), then that is one heck of a waste of $200.

I guess it'd be nice to wave my hand and have my DVD player know what I want it to do. I...guess. But I'll quote Mr. Burns on this one: "I think I'd be happier with the dollar."

Agreed. What I perceived to be "good" isn't, at least right now, anywhere near enough justification to get it.

They had an hour or so to show something more exciting than the new Zelda (which is also motion controlled)
I haven't seen the latter yet but I'm willing to bet they failed.

As far as casual games go though, great! but you'll have to prise that market out of Nintendo's cold dead hand at this point.

My main problem with the dancing game is that it reminds me of tiger woods with wii motion +. In other words unless you know how to dance you'll look stupid and suck at the game. I mean the girl was doing way more then the guy was and you could tell on screen that the animation looked more fluid with the better dancer.

WAT!

It might be neat, but it doesn't do anything better than a controller can do; even if it works, none of the applications are anything but easy peasy to use a controller for. And if you own a 360, you probably already have one of these useful devices.

Come on, friends,

There were no real surprises. They were mostly just saying: "Yup, there are still these things coming." It was more of a reminder of the already announced games. Im not sold into Kinect. Im pretty sure Nintendo can easily have a better presentation. Im sure Sony can top it as well.

The press conference was terrible. Repeating old "bring games to the whole family" clishés and displaying dumbed down minigame collections doesn´t impress me. And oh, i can talk to the Xbox. And wave my hands to select menues. They have the tecnique, but haven´t yet found a purpose for it.

Still why all the Msoft hate. Hell nintendo Has screwed up E3 for three years now and last years was crappy too but some how they get off scot free. No thats not how t works people. Also you complain about crapy controls and games when that's all you've been given for like 5 years now. WTF.

Uh, no.

I'm pretty sure E3 2008 for Nintendo sucked. E3 2009 was one of the best they had, with the anouncements of Super Mario Galaxy 2, Other M, Golden Sun DS, Zelda, and Pikmin 3. I don't know what E3 you saw last year.

Pumped for Sony's and Nintendo's presentation, and extremely pumped for 3DS and Zelda, along with some more Other M footage and other suprises, (Retro's game, Project Sora). I'd be shocked if the turned out terrible.

That pet game with the tiger was pretty creepy. Speaking of creepy, that adventure game takes photos of you while you play and then automatically uploads them to Facebook? lmao.

SMW

Hahaha! wow! Not even the freakin' Cirque du soleil could made up that trainwreck

The problem with MS is not that hey want to be the Wii. No the problem is that they believe in the casual fallacy. There's no such thing as casual gamers. That's something that the industry invented to pighole anything that doesn't fall in the Industry's patterns. Wii sports succeded not because it was "casual" but because it was old classic gaming in its roots.

And is so sad to see that Rare became MS's Bitch. It seems that everything MS touches turns it in a pile of ashes. R.I.P Rare.

Top it? Really, think about what happened today. If that was Nintendo they would have been blasted for only catering to casuals. They showed some demos to some good first party IPs we already knew about, already knew what to expect, for only about 25% of the time. At least all of Nintendo's (The shovelware doesn't come from them) "casual" game were good and looked good. Wii Sports, WSR, Wii Fit.

Think about it. Imagine for a sec if Nintendo were crazy enough to do this tomorrow: come out and talk about S&P2 (we've seen it and know it is coming), Metroid: Other:M (we've seen it and know it is coming), and NBA Jam (we've seen it and know it is coming) for 25% of the time, then proceed to talk about the Vitality Sensor for the rest of the presentation then "announce" two new Wii colors. They would be totally BLASTED, and I would STILL have appreciated that presentation better than Microsoft's today.

I think Sony's going to do well tomorrow. So is Nintendo, Zelda is coming and you know we are at least getting one surprise.

But who wins? I expect Sony to do very well but it will be tough to beat Nintendo's presentation after this crapfest today. Zelda, 3DS, 3DS titles, REAL Golden Sun stuff, One or two Wii AAA unannounced games, is the minimum Nintendo is going to show tomorrow. Unless Sony completely brings it with Move and it's software tomorrow it is a win by default.

Well, at least I'm at least happy to see that they dropped the Virtual Boy in favor of some stupid cats.

The Wii doesn't have crappy controls. Most people that say that haven't even played the Wii before. People say that shooters on the Wii suck because of the controls, but I bet they will praise motion controls once Sony makes shooting games on their Move thing. Nintendo gets all the crap because the Sony and Microsoft fans are scared that Nintendo is better.

But Nintendo has the 3DS, bigdog, which is the most major announcement to be made at E3. Im sure it will impress.

I'm not sure how at the press conference though, we won't be able to see its 3D-ness. :/
