Topic: Mega Man 11 Retail game

I was thinking, about how Mega Man is one of Capcom's biggest flagship franchises, and I was wondering.. Mega man 1-8 were full console games, but MM9 and MM10 are downloadable titles on WiiWare, PSN, and XBL... and I thought if Mega man is such big part of Capcom, why didn't they make a full fledged console game for him? They should use the advanced graphics, advanced sound, and storytelling potential, and make a good 2.5 platformer retail game, it seems like Capcom thinks that if they try something different it won't return a profit, look at Street Fighter IV, someone over in Capcom realized "Hey lets try something different with Street Fighter IV" and guess what that was different and it worked out, but Capcom seems to remake the same stuff, Street Fighter II was remade a million freaking times, and when they finally decided to release Street Fighter III came out, there was already 3 Tekken games 3 Mortal Kombat games and I believe Soul Calibur, and because of that not as many people were going to Street Fighter III because of it, so Capcom basically said "Well, Street Fighter dead, lets move on."
Anyway, what I am basically is that rather than making Mega Man 11 another 8-bit download game, make it a full retail game.

I have no idea what the point of half of this is. You should try using paragraphs some time.

Mega Man 9 and 10 were successful because they were retro and because they were downloadable. That's what the average Mega Man fan wants, as sales clearly indicate.

There's no point making it retail when it clearly fits the downloadable size limit. All that would be doing is asking us to waste more money, which I'd quite prefer not to, actually.

What more could they possibly do with the original Mega Man games? Especially to make a full retail game? Think 9 and 10 were enough retro nostalgia for one console. I think they outta move on to Mega Man X and Legends now.

How bout just Legends MickeyMac.
The last 2 X games weren't the best.

I hope they do make X9 and X10 next; it'd lend the two series some symmetry if nothing else. I prefer the X series in general, though MM9 is my favorite individual game. All the MMX games on SNES were great, though I don't know what the heck they were thinking with the post-Nintendo games.

Edit: Chrono Cross, the last two MM games weren't the best, either, and yet 9 and 10 returned to rock the party because they were based more closely on the first three games. I would assume Capcom would have the sense to do the same with a hypothetical X9 and X10, basing them on the first three, which seem to be the fan favorites.

A while back, someone mentioned that there was two routes that oldie games can take. The Mega Man path and the Mario path. The Mega Man path lets you rely on what brought you to the dance, but you submit to yourself that your game was always best suited with what worked back in the day, as it wouldn't work here. The Mario path has room to grow, but it also takes many risks. Sonic, for example, tried the Mario path and has failed thus far, so now they're going back and taking the Mega Man path. Bionic Commando ReArmed did it, Contra 4 did it, and, of course, Mega Man is doing it. 2D side-scrolling is the only place Mega Man has truly worked.
