I'm up to the Suicide Mission on my Sentinel play through of Mass Effect 2, but I've accidentally sentenced my Tali to death, and I simply don't want to play that file anymore because of what happens in 3... Darn you Tali/Legion conflict...

Still, best new IP of the seventh generation by far, excluding the ending to 3...

It's not necessarily a problem concerning Tali. Did you do her loyalty mission?

@Midnight3DS Nah, she's dead... I didn't have a high enough paragon/renegade make both Tali and Legion loyal in their conflict, so I lost her loyalty, then I sent her back with the crew on the Suicide Mission, which I looked up later kills any unloyal teammate. I'm just annoyed cause on my first playthrough of the game I did everything right...

I think 2 and 3 are easily better in terms of gameplay. They feel so much more polished. The side missions in one also use recycled environments. I always felt like I had been there before when I hadn't. The Mako was awful and driving it got old fast.

That said it's still a really good game.

I would rank them 2,3 then 1.

I agree with everything here. 2>3>1 for gameplay. I also thought the missions in ME2 had more personality and flavor overall. Story wise, ME1 was far more interesting than 3 to me, being the setup. Gameplay was the downside with 1.

My first go at the suicide mission was without a guide, and to my surprise only Gabby and Kelly Chambers died. Zaeed bit it in ME3, though. I didn't have the paragon strength for his loyalty mission in ME2.

I had gotten all the DLC for mass effect two and fully completed it and got ME3 the day it came out beat it a few days later and I felt like it was a waste of time >.< but with the new endings I felt better.

I'm reeealy late to the Mass Effect party... I just recently got the Mass Effect Trilogy and I'm playing through the first one as a Adept. It's pretty fun so far, my only complaint would be the lack-luster combat mechanics (which I know get better in the following games) and of course the vehicle is God awful XD.

I have Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U sitting on my shelf, waiting for once I finish Skyward Sword. I was planning to just watch some fan movies of the first games on YouTube then jump in with 3, but I've just seen 1 and 2 are in the Steam summer sale for £5 and £10 respectively (I don't have a PS3 or X360, but my laptop should be able to handle them).

Tempted to cancel my Deus Ex: Human Revolution pre-order and get those instead, along with maybe something from the eShop to make up the difference. Hmmmm....

Playing through ME1 now, the combat is refreshing in a way. More caution required. And I like that sniper rifles require patience and skill. I was debating hitting up Ashley this playthrough, but I can't resist the blueberry love muffin. I like the payoff in Lair of the Shadow Broker. Them feels.

Never played 1 or 2 and got 3 for the U as a gift. I am now at the final push against the Reapers. It's an ok game IMO. Cover shooters with RPG elements and a a lot of dialogue are not really my thing.

I just finished off Virmire in ME1. The pinnacle of the game, as everything, including music, is pitch perfect. Oh, and anytime you go to the Citadel, take Wrex as much as you can. He has the best lines.

I just played the Citadel dlc. Worth every penny, as I smiled, laughed, and got a little misty eyed. The subplot here is b movie territory, but fun. Then there's the big party with beloved crew, past and present. If you love the characters, this is a love letter send off to you.
