I'm about to start a fresh trilogy playthrough, and I'm going to go infiltrator class. Don't know who the lucky lady will be as Shep's love interest this go around. Tali, Liara, and Miranda had their turns. Tali a few times. The banter is so good.
Ahem, anyway... feel free to talk about one of the best series this gen, or any gen really. Favorite class, characters, moments, whatever. ME2 is my favorite. Though it's sort of a break from the overall plot, it's rich with characters, hubs, and side quests. And that suicide mission, particularely the first time, was thrilling. I was worried about each and every one of my crew. I played completely blind without a guide, so I didn't know what to expect. It turns out I botched one loyalty mission, and that came back to bite me in ME3.
Easily the best new IP this generation. Absolutely fantastic series. I feel like playing it all again. Again. Mass Effect 2 in particular is among my top 5 favorite games.
Best thread ever

I think story and exploration (though it can be tedious) aside, the first one does have a fair amount of clunk to it. To be expected first time out I suppose.
Who could ask for a better dude broski? When he's not in the middle of calibrations that is...
The first one was good but the 2nd & 3rd are better, i like the online part to ME3. Story wise it was good especially how the story carried on from 1-2-3, but the end of ME3 wasn't that amazing. I don't find it that bad but it could of been a bit better, thank god that took that troll messages off from this morning good work NL.
I'm playing ME3 right now, it's as solid as I expected. I've been late getting to any of these games, and I love it. I get Nintendo's philosophy against doing this and in general how much this idea can take over good gameplay ideas, but just the level of continuity and how the whole series is one big story (if very clearly divided between games) makes it so much better than just the sum of its parts. I think the main reason I liked ME2 so much is because I already got to know all about everything the game was talking about, and it just kept building on an already solid foundation of a story with even better writing and gameplay. Despite stupid stuff I already know inevitably happens in ME3, I'm really glad this series is around.
lol... for a second I thought you posted in the wrong thread. Actually I still have to get Omega and Citadel dlc. I blew a lot on on Spectre packs. The addiction got me.

Omega is too expensive for what it is. I would wait for a sale or price drop. I haven't played Citadel yet either.
^ Hopefully if you have the extended cut (standard with Wii U version, free dlc for others), it will smooth out the ending a bit.
I know about the DLC. If I don't have it, I'll download it (360 ver. btw). Even that I have some issues with tbh, and it's kind of a shame I know so much about how it ends.

Oh, trust me, I completely understand the issues thing, even with EC.
I just recently bought ME3 for my Wii U, and it's my next game I'm gonna play! I'm very excited to finally play one of the games, but I really wish EA would consider releasing the ME Trilogy on the Wii U as well.
My favorite character is Garrus. He's the BEST character in the Mass Effect series.I would want this guy to return again!
I mean,who can't stand this guy?
Here's a quote from Casey Hudson concernining the next ME.
"On the next Mass Effect game, we're starting fresh - we're developing a completely new fictional universe that'll be the basis of a new generation of gameplay and storytelling. It's an exciting time, and the best part is that I'll continue to work with the team that created the Mass Effect series as we push forward."
I'm up to the Suicide Mission on my Sentinel play through of Mass Effect 2, but I've accidentally sentenced my Tali to death, and I simply don't want to play that file anymore because of what happens in 3... Darn you Tali/Legion conflict...
Still, best new IP of the seventh generation by far, excluding the ending to 3...
