So much for anymore good Star Wars games. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney made the sequel trilogy utterly horrible.

Does this mean no more Rogue Squadron games or remakes?

Well, I'll still be able to enjoy Rogue Squadrons II & III on my Wii. Sad all the same.

Dang, that stinks. Well Star Wars games haven't been as good as last gen though. Hopefully Disney will get someone on KOTOR3, Battlefront 3, or Republic Commando 2. None of the Star Wars games have been as good this gen and 1313 was gonna be M so that was stupid. The reasons they cited for the M rating were pretty stupid too.

Disney owns those. Just because the studio shut down doesn't mean that games already made will disappear

So it just means there will be only outside studios handling Star Wars games from now on...

Given the few recent turds internal studios have lay (Force Unleashed 2, I'm looking at you specifically), I look forward to only outside development teams to get an opportunity to produce some titles.

Yeah I hated that Force Unleashed 2 wasn't that good. I really liked the first one. The story of the second one wasn't even as good, and it left everyone wondering which was the actual ending with no sign of them ever giving us an answer to that.

Well, there goes my hopes for a new Zombies Ate My Neighbours.

Wow, can't believe Disney did that!?!??!?!! LucasArts has such a great legacy. Some of my favorite games growing up were any Indiana Jones games by them and Maniac Mansion. This is truly a sad day.

I'm honestly not sure why they would do this. Disney and Star Wars are basically the standard bearers of taking advantage of people's nostalgia. Now they're not gonna use that beyond re-releases and whatever.

Like even Microsoft at least understood Rare is a good brand name.

Aww man! Now we may never get a Star Wars Battlefront III! in denial

Why keep an entire staff on payroll that hasn't produced a great Star Wars game since Republic Commando? Why risk tarnishing a slightly sullied brand further? Disney has said from day one that they're treating Star Wars with a clean slate (Honestly, I don't believe that)

This doesn't mean Disney is ending Star Wars related video games. It just means they're putting the license in the hands of outside development. Which has worked fantastic for Star Wars games. If it wasn't for outside development, we wouldn't have had Knights of the Old Republic. Or LEGO Star Wars. Or even Jedi Academy.

Disney did this to all their game related divisions. Junction Point wanted to make a DuckTales game. Disney closed up their shop and decided that Wayforward was more than capable to handle a new (albeit rehash) title in that series.

I'm disappointed to see 140 folks lose their jobs though. Especially this close to major developer conferences. Postponing the decision till now isn't going to make finding a job easier for those guys
