Topic: Looking to get Xbox Live

Well, I'm gonna get the XBL Silver package so's I can update a few games, after which I won't use it again unless I get another game with download content.

GAMES TO UPDATE

PGR2- looking forward to the Porsche 356. 8)
PGR3- the Caddy V-Series should be a nice addon
PGR4- what the heck?
Forza 2- either that or the bonus disc, looking forward to the Challenger, Miura, BMW 3.0, and Road America
Forza 3- all those classics are tight!

PGR4 has free DLC too, just give it a try....

Remember to get the free XBLA game Dash of Destruction (if still available, not sure), and to enjoy your 1 month of free Gold... if you like multiplayer, you'll love the best online experience avaiable on consoles... you'll want to keep it lol

I only intend to use it for downloads. I'll update PGR2 (if I still can), PGR3, PGR4, Forza 2, and Forza 3. Then, I'm done until more DLC comes out.

I thought XBL Silver came free when you bought the console. I may be mistaken though.

silver = free

so you getting the "silver package" means you are just connecting your xbox online.
gold allows you to play games online and use netflixs, but with silver you can still download live arcade games and game content.

And with the coming update, access Twitter and Facebook too, those will be Gold-only (Last.FM can be accessed by Silvers too)

@StarFox if you haven't downloaded the NXE update from Xbox.com, you'll have to update your console when you get online... remember that with NXE you can now install your games to the HDD (completely optional, latest update reduced install size of all games, you save between 0.1 GB up to 1.5 GB per game) to reduce load times as well as drive usage (drive is only used to check you own the game, then it loads the game from the HDD.... ALL games can be installed, except Crackdown)... if you have a small HDD, just install the games you use the most.

Updating the 360 should be no problem. Again, I'm only getting the DLC for my racing games. I have no intention of using it regularly online. I got my HDD aftermarket (I got the core system), so I have no idea what version it is.

on the upper part of the HDD, it says if it's 20, 60 or 120 GB...

and give Xbox LIVE Arcade a try, you should download the trials for Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie

Nope, it isn't.... it's a 1080p conversin of it... extra AA, improved textures (but not so much, they are meant to look like the N64 game), 1080p resolution, LIVE connectivity, Stop 'N' Swop...
