Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

I'm playing Little Battlers eXperience at the moment at that's shaping up to be the best game of the year for me so far but as I'm not even at the half way point yet I can't say it is so I'll go with Splatoon with Codename STEAM and Super Mario Maker just behind it.

Alright, I gotta stop getting into arguments with jump. Someone remind me next time.

Well there was A-Train, Japanese Rail Sim (Kyoto is significantly better than Suburbs), Airport Hero Narita and in NON-transit games, Etrian Mystery Dungeon! Some people didn't like it, but I found it a bottomless pit of stat grinding roguelike fun.

Oh and Project Mirai was pretty fun until it came down to grinding friendship achievements.

  • Majora's Mask 3D: Great remake of the original. in my opinion, many of the changes made were for the better. Of course, the frame rate had a huge improvement!
  • Gunman Clive 2: More variety than the original, with some weird controlled SHMUP like levels. I think I liked the level design of the original better. It's also slightly longer.
  • Hotline Miami 2: Pretty good sequel, but I found It drags on for too long at times and some levels are too big. The music selection is huge but overall I preffered the original's.
  • Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam: Solves the biggest issues with Dream Team but lacks the unique feel of the M&L series, since most of everything in the game can be found on the NSMB games. Still like it better than Partners in Time, though.

This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.

Looking back, 2015 was a really weak year for me gaming-wise. There weren't a whole lot of games released in general and those that were aren't interesting or exist only on platforms I don't have. Still, a few gems surfaced. The absolute greatest game I played last year was:
Life is Strange – what a paragon of storytelling in games. I've been a fan of Telltale style choose-your-own-adventure type of romps for a good while but LiS blows them out of the water. You know how some products of culture just leave you with an empty feeling, a sort of bittersweet aftertaste you get when something great comes to an end? And then for days your mind races back to the world and its characters. As years go by, you still warmly remember all the great moments – perhaps it has even affected you in small ways. For me, LiS has without a doubt been that type of game. I know I haven't said much concrete about the game, but I want folks approach it with a fresh, spoiler-free mind. Seriously, buy it yesterday – the $10 its sold at at the moment is an absolute bargain.

Nintendo seems to echo the rest of the gaming industry in the sense that the offerings were slim last year.
Splatoon managed to stand out them most. Not much to say about it. Just pure, condensed multiplayer fun.

Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8

@ClockworkMario: I too have been a fan of the Telltale kind of games for a while, but have yet to play or even buy Life is Strange, as I wasn't 100% sold on its concept or the execution of it based off of what I've read. That was until I read your comment, and you've now sold me on the game. Well done. I'll be sure to pick it up now in the next week or so. Happy face time for a selfie.

@ClockworkMario You bought it yesterday? It's part of a Humble Bundle right now, man...
Anyway...
Fallout 4: Even if it's flawed, It's simultaneously sooooo good.
Metal Gear Solid V: Runs terrible on my computer, but I love it anyway!
Witcher 3: Do I have to explain?

Not as good but still amazing tier
Undertale: Bullet Hell x Earthbound x Postal 2 (If you want it to be)
The Beginner's Guide: When Stanley saw that a new game had been created by the developer of The Stanley Parable, he pressed the add to cart button. Stanley? Are you even listening? STANLEY PRESSED THE ADD TO CART BUTTON!
Crypt of the Necrodancer: You can play with a Dance Dance Revolution Pad... 1000/10
SOMA: The price tag says that it's 29.99, but that doesn't include the large amount of microtransactions. As in, the many new pairs of pants you will have to buy.
Splatoon: You're on Nintendo Life. You already know everything about Splatoon.
Monster Hunter 4U: I think @Haru17 summed it up pretty well.

Remakes:
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: Overhauled so much, it's hard to put it in the remake section... My new favorite EO game!
Final Fantasy X/X-2: Tidus is still an annoying b*tch 0/10
Xenoblade 3D: Everyone says it feels worse on the small screen, but I feel like most of those feelings come from playing it a second time. Also... IM RLY FEELING IT LOL
Grim Fandango Remastered: Came out in '98, yet it still felt amazingly unique as I played it for the first time this year.
SMT Devil Survivor 2: Some of the best voice acting I've heard from a portable game. Ever. Perhaps even better than Kid Icarus Uprising. I never played the original, but I can't believe it originally released on the DS...
Grandia II: Underrated gem on the Dreamcast, and now... An underrated gem on Steam!

2014, But played this year:
Metro Redux: Still kind of unsure of what the hell happened in this game, but it was amazing anyway! And those graphics!
Dark Souls 2: You're gonna die a lot. Again.
Middle Earth SOM: Third person Falloutish game in Middle Earth? What's not to love?
Tomb Raider: Talk about reinventing an old series...
Far Cry 4: Just like Far Cry 3, except even crazier. Yes, that is possible.

Haven't played...:
Halo 5: No Xbone 4 me
Bloodborne: Aaaaand no PS4 either...
Disgaea 5: See above.
Talos Principle: I love me some first person puzzles, but that price tag...
Ori and the Blind Forest: With beautiful graphics like those, I'm going to need to pick this up ASAP.
Super Mario Maker: Nintendo games, why you gotta be so expensive?
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Ditto, same as above...
Divinity: Original Sin: Steam sale please?
Life is Strange: I own it as part of the recent Humble Bundle, and given all the praise it's getting on this forum, I'll be trying it out tonight!

Looks up and sees that I listed fifty games
Uhhhhhhhh I have some problems

@-Godot:
No, I mean you know how people raving about stuff say you should get this and that TODAY! And LiS is so exquisite you should've gotten it yesterday... it...
...yeah

Well, rest assured, I won't be seeking a career in comedy or creative writing any time soon.
(P.S. That's a good list you've got there. Nice to see Talos Principle and The Beginners Guide to get some love).

@TheLastLugia
Perhaps I should seek a job in Square Enixs' marketing department instead – you're the third person I've managed to push this game to. Seriously though, I hope it brings you the same amount of joy and a cargo container of other assorted feelings it brought to me. If you're planning to get it in the near future, now's your chance: there's a Steam sale and a Humble Bundle deal (with the first episode for $1 and a discount voucher for the rest) going on for a short while still.

Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8
