I have Eternal Night, but never had A New Beginning. What is ANB like? I heard that Eternal Night is the direct sequel, but I know nothing else.

Your thread count is now over 60. I think it's time for you to stop.

guys, to be fair, yes, StarFox over posts. but this thread is actually fairly legitimate. he wants to know what ANB is like.

@StarFox: well, i haven't played any of the subsequent Legend of Spyro games, so if you like those, i really couldn't compare ANB. but on its own, i did shut it off and sell it back to gamestop before i even got through with the first "level". it was SOOOO tedious. the action was repetive button-masher stuff, and the gameplay was "enter the room, clear the baddies, door opens. enter next room, clear the baddies, door opens. rinse, lather, repeat." ugh. i never give up on games that quickly, but everything about it (except the voice acting (Gary Oldman and Elijah Wood) was pretty awful. still, i read IGN's review a little while back, and it made me think perhaps if i stick with it a little longer it will be worth it, so i'll be giving it another go when i can track it down, but for now, i have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

How about he actually uses dedicated threads? The universal recommendations thread works just as well.
Honestly, I think we have a right to complain. It's annoying seeing so many short, quick-to-fade threads. We've asked him to stop before. No one can deny that 60+ threads is WAY too much.

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning is decent (not great, but not bad either), StarFox. It's by no means better than the PSX Spyro originals, but it's definitely worth checking out. Of course, I got it in Christmas of 2007, and I haven't played it until February or March of 2008. Took me three days (non-consecutive) to beat it. The soundtrack is well-composed. The graphics are lovely. Sadly, there's a lot of lag in the game when the action gets overly hectic. It can also be a button-masher at times. The thing that I liked less about the GameCube game is that it is very linear, whereas the PSX games were nonlinear. Don't take that as a sign that the game is bad, it's still worth a look, if you feel that it's right for you.
As for The Legend of Spryo: The Eternal Night, I haven't played it, and I've had it since Easter Sunday of 2008.

Oh, yeah, there were those other pre-The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning/post-Spyro: Year of the Dragon games that I looked up that did not receive much fanfare.
I have the most fondness for the first three Spyro games for the PSX.

I played that Spyro game on the gamecube, I think it was the second one. It was called A Heroes Tale. It was alright, kind of fun, but I do know that they changed the next games up a bit. Made them more combat focused.

I want to play A Hero's Tail and Shadow Legacy just because Jess Harnell voices Spyro in them. X3

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
