And it's what you were all waiting for, Konami is moving from Pachinko Machines to...

Slot Machines

Apparently Konami is making a line up of software for some in-house slot machine that according to them bring "sleek entertainment, premium packaging, and player comfort, backed by a rich library of original titles" to the very large gambling market to compete with other companies in the business such as Mazooma, Microgaming, and EA.

Silent Hill Escape will be the first of many pieces of software for the units that include high end technology such as a 4K UHD portrait screen, facial recognition and more in this butchered take on the Silent Hill series.

Oh noes Konami is so evil
Konami, as a videogames publisher, lost on a competitive market. They've been crushed in sales by other AAA publishers. That's it. They're not the one to blame but you should blame the people who didn't buy their games.

I'm not here to defend how Konami has managed (or rather mismanaged) their video game division, but I imagine their gambling division is a relatively seperate entity (much like how Sony's movie, music, and Playstation divisions are for all intents and purposes seperate) and them using the Silent Hill (or whatever gaming) IP for their machines has no impact on whatever their video game division does or doesn't do.
