Topic: Konami is a pathetic company

You know, it's pretty bad when I consider a company to have fallen harder than Capcom, but you know what, Capcom still makes new IPs. Capcom has at least done something to appease Megaman fans (in every way except actually making a game) Ace Attorney is still wonderful and their NA community tries their best. But Jesus Christ...Konami. I had already heard how insane the company was from Jim Sterling and Ground Zeroes was insulting but this is just inexcusable.

So if you didn't know, Konami had this super early conference, several hours before the Nintendo Event, that some press were staying up to catch and Konami just...never showed up. They did nothing and have said nothing (AFAIK) and have just wasted people's time for no reason. Like...wow. That is impressively pathetic.

Knowing Konami, they probably made the presser, and then was like "oh crap, we only make Metal Gear Solid now and we just showed that!" and didn't want to look silly, so they didn't show up...and ended up looking silly...

Even if we pretend that's a valid excuse, Nintendo's already spent 40 minutes on a single game in recent memory.

Actually I think they followed your advice and got into real estate and other better paying activities than trying to cater to the modern gamer.

I'd have laugh harder until my stomach hurts if Konami actually held the conference, spending 90 mins only on Phantom Pain and ignoring the rest of their IPs. I'm pretty sure Castlevania isn't coming back since Iga left and MercySteam said that Lords of Shadow 2 would be the last one from them, ZOE 3 being scarped, and no one knows what happen to Contra when they tease it way back when for the 3DS. We know Konami relies heavily on MGS since that is the only series they haven't ruined and keeps them from becoming irrelevant. I'm very curious on what can Konami possibly do once Phantom Pain is release?
